How scary. Let's do a chant!!

*Steven, scare off that bug, pass that obstruction, shrink your pancreas, eat your dinner, and go HOME!! Soft couches, unlimited skritchies, kisses and hugs, and great joy await the dog that turns around and goes HOME!! :couchjump Steven, scare off that bug, pass that obstruction, shrink your pancreas, eat your dinner, and go HOME!! 3. As directed, here I am :P but I don't know if I can be too much help. My picky eater won't eat NY either, but if you can get her to eat some, it might stimulate her appetite to eat more whatever else you give her. As Burpdog says, it's the vit. B12 in it that's so good for the appetite. NY is also really good to help the system heal and to counteract side effects of illness and stress.

As for brands, you're looking for "Vegetarian Support", which is the one that has the B12. It's manufactured by Red Star, but it may go under another name. It should be sort of dull gold in color, and have a toasty, cheesy taste and smell.

Did you try it with the tripe?

Best of luck, with all the suggestions (like the peanut butter sandwich idea, too!) Hopefully, she just needs some antibiotics for her "cold", and will feel her old self in no time! Let us know how it goes, and what works for you!

  4. Ah! Thanks guys!

Actually, things are almost back to normal, here. Brilly's wound is looking fabulous. I'm very impressed with the job the vet did. The hair is growing back, and I doubt it will even show. (aaa woooooOOOOOOOooo!! We're having a roo here to "harmonize" with the fire engines! )

Pogo is settling back down, and we just keep the muzzle handy in case we feel a rise in tensions. He's still on NILIF, but I'm more likely to give him a random scritch than a few weeks ago. Things are going alright, but we learned an important lesson about letting our guard down with him. Hopefully, no more mistakes like that in our future!

  5. What an amazing story, full of pain and sweetness! Your Stella had a wonderful life with you, and ended it with loving arms wrapped around her with no lingering illness to darken her light. Your MIL was there just when she was needed most, and made the loving and intuitive decision to just hold and love Stella right where she was. Your beautiful daughter handed you this incredible gift of open love, speaking for herself and her beloved fur-sister.

You are a very lucky, lucky person.
