  1. Oh gosh! I hope it's nothing serious.
  2. Aw jeeze - that's the last thing you need! I'm always really concerned about 'food' stuff in my back yard - mostly because it backs up to an alley and you never know what could be thrown over my fence... (I once found a syringe stuck between the fence post and the garage - luckily there was no needle on it, but still)
  3. Beans gets one dirty ear - the other one is fine. Every time we go to the vet I have her look at the dirty one and she says it's fine - no infection, no mites. It never seems to bother him - just me because they are groddy!
  4. Blech! That sounds horrid! Poor guy - hope the vet isn't too hard on him. BJ- sounds like an abscess to me, let us know how it goes.

    Abbey

I'm so sorry. She was beautiful.
  6. Ok, great! I knew there would be some smart people here who could help! FINALLY they have both settled down and are napping peacefully. I think Beans has a touch of it too - so maybe something is 'off' with their kibble....? Earlier he was stretching a lot - play bow then rear leg stretch then play bow stretch repeat repeat repeat - his tummy must be bugging him.
  7. Quick! One/both (? ) of my boys has MAAAAADD diarrhea! I'm pretty sure it's Stoney, but I'll be dosing both just to be safe. It started yesterday after they both got into the lunch and cookies I left out (luckily even though they were chocolate chip cookies, there were only 6 left and didn't have much chocolate in them at all) but something in the lunch disagreed with their stomachs. Yesterday at 3am Stoney woke me up with a big stinky pile in the closet and I came home to two more stinky piles. They didn't get breakfast or dinner yesterday and didn't get dinner tonight - I'll be making boiled turkey and rice for tomorrow. But in the mean time it's immodium for the both of them!

    Deuce

    I'm so sorry.
  12. Ditto the "Neosporin, gauze pad, gauze wrap, baby sock" combo. It's been a standard routine in our house and has always worked eventually. Be aware that foot webbing takes a LOT of time to heal.
  13. Good girl Ember! Keep eating please, you were worrying your dad!
  14. I'm sorry to hear about poor Spencer. Beans is a little incontinent - we love the H.O.T belly bands.
  15. Dude?! What????!!!! How on earth am I supposed to survive with out my Greytalk fix? I mean, now I'll only have Facebook to occupy me. Thanks for the heads up!
  16. I'm sorry. Meer is in good company though, she's got my 4 kitties keeping her company (Hanna, Nina, Pitiful, and Rumtruffles).

    I Am So Sad

I'm so sorry. He should have stayed here longer.
  18. Just an update for everyone who's hound is on PPA... Beans started on the PPA just shy of 2 months ago. We were giving him a greatly reduced amount (12.5 mg 2 times a day) and were seeing an improvement. Then we went down to 1 12.5 mg pill a day and things were still good. Last weekend I watched him eat around the 1/4 pill (we put it in the kibble) and then spit it out on the floor when he picked it up with the last 2 pieces of kibble. I decided not to force it in him. My DH tried to offer him one by hand the next day - same thing - he refused again. In light of others reports regarding their dogs response to PPA (not wanting to take it, being forced to, and having bad health issues later), we stopped giving it to him. He's been wearing a belly band since Monday and has been doing pretty well - just a small leak here and there. Thanks to everyone who gave me their stories of hounds on PPA.
