  1. Wonder if the vet was sliced like she is if they would think the same re pain? Sending lots of prayers the antibiotic does the trick!
  2. No, she's not on enough supplements Try a good chondroitin. I recommend Fresh Factors by Springtime, or you can use Joint Health which has chondroitin, glucosamine & MSM.
  3. Drop her off at the vet so they can see her and keep an eye on her and give her the pain meds she needs. Sending prayers!

  5. It's one of my favorite events Not sure I will participate next year (which will be a first!) as I do not like the cut off date--way too early <sigh>

  7. Thank Santa. That is all I can say. I am only an elf!
  8. The flat rate box to Canada is $23 Postal rates are crazy!
  9. 2 should be ok. Keep him off the foot, ie quiet as possible. You don't want to give him a lot of pain meds because you don't want him to use the foot. Swelling is not good as it could indicate a fracture
  10. I, personally, would not do both things on the same day. With the dogs that I know that have had the Imicarb injections, they stay at the vet the entire day to make sure they are ok.
  11. Sending lots of prayers. I know what you are going thru. Two at once makes it very hard Price the ultrasound. I've had them done cheaper at a radiologist's office than a regular vet! I would do the ultrasound instead of xrays. If the xrays don't show anything, you will have to do the ultrasound anyway. I would get the platelets checked on Roo asap.
  12. Thinking of my sweet kids. Can you believe, tomorrow is one year since Rob Roy has gone to the bridge? Next Sunday 3 years for Magic???? October, November & December are really rough I rarely say anything. I can't think too much or I'd go nuts I guess all the ones lately going to the bridge and other things going on in adoption, have made me a little more sensitive. Scooby October 2000, Solomon October 2005 & Slick October 2006 He passed his therapy dog test and never got to go to a facility. How he loved kids! He missed his so much never complained as a model for the auction, Slick I love the old ones Solomon! Can you imagine putting a hat on a 14 yr old and he just says "oh, ok" Eliza November 1998 & Heart November 2005 Burp December 1999, Magic December 2004, Ivey December 2005, Rob Roy December 2006
  13. First shot Tootsie had no reaction. Second one was the vestibular incident. Many people treat with no side effects. Almost all the people I know that treat a lot give the atropine before the injection. It is very important the vet knows to change the needle after drawing, before injecting, and if I remember right, IM, not subq Here are the instructions I received from those who give quite a few injections and what I gave my vet:
  14. Fedex home delivery (3 days) would have been a whole lot cheaper if it was in the States (re $58). Sometimes, if you must go USPS, two flat rate boxes are cheaper than one big box.
  15. Katie: you take the time to heal properly!
  16. Want the dremel back? They will come back. It's something you just keep up with. Mahogany will be going in for a pedicure at the end of the month......
  17. Glad she is better! Regarding the tick diseases: they can lay dormant 5-7 years, so just because you didn't see a tick on her, doesn't mean she does not have a TBD. Because of her extensive problem, in addition to a TBD panel, I'd do a PCR for e ewingii.
  18. Seizure people will have to jump in here, but I wonder if having some valium on hand to pull him out of the seizure would be better than putting him on daily meds if he is only having one or two a month. Of course, if they become more frequent it is a different issue. Also, above recommendation for a neurologist is a very good one. Because of the other issue, you really need to know where the seizures are coming from if possible. Was a TBD panel done including a PCR for e ewingii? Sending prayers!
