  1. Mizzy's broken and unset hock bothers her at times but she runs with no trouble. I would call the vet and ask about the ball field and the fact he may run full out.
  2. May 29, 2008 Hi Diane, We have company from NY and Winslow is having fun with them. Swimming today was good. Have you seen this. We thought it was pretty funny. Someone contacted me about using photos a long time ago and I told them go ahead, anything to help OSU. I didn't know they actually did it. Stumbled on this one by accident. We hope all is well at your house. Things are good here, More later. G. Brochure
  3. How does he know it's not a TBD? You would have had to test for every TBD known and some of them are a PCR test. If she is responding to doxy, why stop? There is also one or two that are not showing up yet respond to doxy. Would a spinal tap change the treatment? If not, why do it? Is there any chance she has spinal meningitis?

There are several more on board that have had amputations including Dempsey http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showtopic=190680&hl= and Bodie http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showto...67&hl=Bodie and I know there are more (like Max and Vinnie and Maddison.....) Personally I believe it depends on the grey and owner's desire. Have you/she contacted Ohio State for an opinion?
  5. Think positively! It does sound small That is good news.
  6. Stick with Frontline. You do not need a script. In fact, you can buy it at Petco if you want (more expensive than on line)
  7. Sending my sympathy Did you do a necropsy?
  8. Sending lots of prayers. Do they know how invasive it is?
  9. Try acidolphillus pills in canned meat or cheese or lunch meat, etc. His poop should be the color of the kibble or darker. Cut out the marrow bones for a few days and see if he gets better. I'd also cut the cottage cheese for a few days
  10. If x ray shows nothing, try acupuncture and/or chiropractic (can't remember all the options you have done) They do not scream for attention. Something is wrong. Sending lots of prayers.
  11. After my Dane's torsion surgery, the vet told me to feed and water as high as she would eat/drink--step ladder if needed Sending prayers!
  12. Can you find another vet? Sending prayers!
  13. Re TBD: make sure the doxy is at the correct dose for 8 weeks (5mg per # of body weight twice a day) and get her stomach meds if she is barfing and doesn't want to eat! Carafate will help a lot.
  14. It's hard to say if his feeling punky is due to the treatment. See how he is after the next treatment and mention to the vet what you are seeing
  15. Thinking of Bodie today and sending lots of prayers for a successful and uneventful treatment.

  18. How is he doing? Infant socks and neosporin or bag balm, overnight, really help
  19. When is his first treatment? Any update from the vet student on how he is doing?
  20. Sending lots of prayers!
  21. Years ago, when I was in Danes, if one suspected bloat, we all said "get a bottle of pepto down them", then get to the vet. Anyone who suspects bloat, should get to the vet asap. Many times you have less than 2 hours if they are in torsion. You cannot "cure" bloat with GasX or pepto. You can possiblyy slow down the gas production which will buy you time to get to the vet!
