  1. We give both Angel and Fast Gluecomine 2x a day and there both going to be 10 in March of next year. Fast has been getting since we got him in may of 2010. It was recommended that we start him on it now since he did break his leg as a 2 year racing. And then sat on the farm for 5 years.
  2. My first greyhound Katie Z started doing that same thing about 2 or 3 weeks after we got her home. After a few panicked calls to our adoption rep. She started having give Katie a treat or two before bed and that solved the problem. she was just hungry.
  3. Judy and Family, I am soo sorry to hear of Jilly's passsing! She was a lucky girl to be loved by guys and the GT community who only knew her here by your posts! I'm sure that she'll rule the Rainbow Bridge with our our beloved hounds who have gone before her Happy Birthday at the Rainbow Bridge Jilly Bean!
  4. I am soo sorry for you loss! Run free sweet boy!
  5. Hi Sister! Well, it's about time you joined me over on Greytalk!
  6. All of our hounds knew there name when we adopted them. And tell you the truth we never thought about changing there names.
  7. Poor guy! But I'm happy to hear that he is doing better! I guess he wanted to let you know how much better he was feeling, even if it was 4:45 am!
  8. Kim, I am soo sorry! I hate cancer! It has just taken too many of our belioved hounds!
  9. I use to feed Canidae untill the changed the formula. The new stuff didn't agree with either of my hounds. So I switched them all over to Fromm's and then thing went back to normal.
  10. My first hound Katie Z was a grazer and then after a little while she would throw it back up. And my current hounds to like to eat grass. Angel has eaten grass since day when from when she came into our adoption program 6 and a half years ago.And 6 years later she still eats grass. She doesn't throw it up though. Fast like to graze on grass from time to time. But he's not as bad as Angel is.
  11. I use a combination of a thundershirt and some supplments called Tranquilty blend on Angel during a thunderstorm. And she does pretty well.
  12. Fast still got to his tail even with the cone of shame one. The vet gave us 3 diffrent one and he could get it. It finally got to the point we gave up on the cone of shame. And he just wore his muzzle with a poop guard for 2 weeks untill the stiches came out after his tail amputation for happy tail that would not heal. We ditake it off when he ate or would go for walks. But right back to being muzzled after eating or walks. Because he did rip the stiches 2 days after he had the surgey. he just would not leave them alone.
  13. Mine don't seem to have any problems after they've had there pill. I normally give them a treat or two just so they have some thing in there tummies too!
  14. Both of my hounds get one with both of there am and pm feedings.
  15. Really? No one could use any Deramaxx? I find that hard to believe.
  16. I had a friend who lost there hound to Osteo the day before Mother's day. And they gave me a bag of meds and asked if I would be able to find home for them. And I told her I would. So they only things I have left are a bunch of Deramaxx and samples of FortiFlora. The FortiFlora do have a Best Before Jan of 2012. But I would think they are still good yet. The Deramaxx is 75 mg. The bottle was filled om 4/30/12 and they maybe used 5 or 10 of them. There is a sample bottle of Deramaxx too. It has 7 pills in it and hasn't been opened yet. It is 75 mg as well. If any one can use them please let me know. I would hate to see them go to waste!
  17. I volunteer with GPA-Wisconsin. I know a lot of our Madison volunteer use Heathly Pet in Madison. Dr Carla is very Greyhound savy, she adopted from our group. If you post something on our Forum. I sure some of the Madison people will chime in with which vet they use. Here is the link to our Forum if I did it right. http://www.gpawisconsin.org/forum/phpBB2/index.php
  18. I'm going to keep watching this thread too! I've been toying with the idea of making jerky treats for my hounds!
  19. My female Angel has spay incontinence. She was diagnosed when she was around 7 years old and she just turned 9 about a month ago. She's been on Proin for 2 years and hasn't had any problems. I order her med from KVvet supply and they are a a whole lot cheaper that getting them form my vets office.
  20. I second the thought on his teeth hurting. Maybe try giving him some cooked rice and hamburger?
  21. Hey Nancy. Sometimes they just go through a picky stage. Maybe you got a bad bag of food? Maybe try a new bag of food? and see if that helps?

    Take care

  22. Hey Nancy, GPA does a meet and greet at the Pet Supplies Plus on 76th St. I was telling Kathleen how picky Freddie has been. And she gave me a few idea's to try. Herbsmith has what's called smiling dog, it's a kibble seasoning. I bought a bottle for Freddie and he seems to like it. There was also a canned dog food she had me try. It called Avanger's
