  1. I have been lucky enough to not have been in your situation, but I have heard others suggest care credit. I believe it is a credit card strictly for vet bills, and there is no interest if you pay it off within the alloted time. I think most vet's offices have information, or http://www.carecredit.com/vetmed/
  2. Those darn skwerrils are a health hazard to greyhounds Like the others have said, a little rest and he will be fine
  3. Sounds like things are going well! Great You have gotten excellent advice, I don't have anything to add except that some greys sleep with their eyes open Yes, it looks weird so until you know him better, don't assume eyes open= awake
  4. glad they don't think it's osteo! Have they checked his neck, shoulders, and spine?
  5. yes, this sort of thing is as traumatic for the person as the dog, I think!
  6. I am so sorry, Rascal was such a pretty girl
  7. I am so sorry you lost your special girl
  8. I would wait until she really needed one. After the dental he got when he was neutered (at 18 months), Fletcher didn't need another until he was 8. I credit his raw diet for that
  9. I am glad he is home! Actually, that's not too bad a progression since I am thinking he wasn't on any heart meds before now? I was able to get most of Sugar's heart meds (the human ones) pretty reasonably, but the vetmedin wasn't cheap. Still it helped, so, worth every penny
  10. hoping they can get him stabilized and get his meds figured out.
  11. She is stunning I've never dealt with urine drinking, but sadly, some dogs eat poop because they can Fletcher was never a stray, has never starved, and he was a bad poop eater. He rarely does it now, but the only real preventative is to pick it up before she gets to it! worming wouldn't, given her history.
  12. I am sorry to hear about Jack, but many heart conditions can be handled well with medication. My first grey lived for 3+ years on heart meds, and I lost her at 12 1/2 from unrelated causes. I hope Jack's heart condition is treatable

I am so sorry, he was so handsome
  14. I don't have this problem with the dogs , but picky cats often don't finish their canned food right away. I've left it 3-4 hours, and they are fine. Dry kibble, even moistened with water, should be perfectly OK.
  15. How terrifying! Of course, this sort of thing always happens weekends/holidays/middle of the night (you got the trifecta) I hope she is better today
  16. You can cut the neck in half if you have two dogs and one neck also, if they look at you funny when you give them the giblets, you may need to cook those a little, mine don't like them raw (they don't like the texture, I think), and my dogs are raw fed every day
