  2. I am so very sorry for your loss. He was a good looking boy and I know he misses you as much as you miss him. God speed Lewis.
  3. Where I live I am lucky to have a regular vet and she's pretty good. Board Certified means more money and most times vets with advanced skills, but it's no guarantee of that the vet is any better than your regular vet.
  4. My Lynch has had two of the episodes, about 9-12 months apart. The first one was over and done with in about 2 weeks. The second one took months for him to get over and was much worse. It was hard with Lynch because he is blind and you feel bad enough because he can't see and then when he's trying to walk and staggering around (kind of like a bull in a china shop) and can't see what he's about to crash into. He's probably 90-95% at this point. Frasier (bridge kid) had two episodes and then shortly after the second one started having seizures and vet figures the three issues for Frasier were related. And no, none of these issues are why he passed. Blood work for dogs was fine in both instances.
  5. I am so very sorry. He was soo handsome and they never stay long enough. Godspeed Buddy.
  6. I"m not a run to the vet fast kind of person, mostly because it's very expensive and time wouldn't always allow it. My dogs have had injuries, only several over the last 20 years or so, that were silver dollar sized and smaller that I've treated with PSO and keep them from licking them and they've always healed up very well without issue and left little to no scarring. I use t-shirts to keep them from worrying the wound and usually within about 7-10 days it's all gone. (t shirt goes over head and a knot tied around the tuck area to keep it on, front legs go out the sleve holes, Wally's wound might be a little to far back for that, but worth a try) Keep an eye on it and keep him from licking and keep it dry. And of course give him tons of loving!!

  17. A friend of mine has a grey who lost most of her tail to a coyote attack. And Dot says "I don't need no stinkin tail" and she's got the cutest little stumpy tail now. Her tail healed up great and you'd never know that she had a long long tail for 11 years! Hope all goes well for your girl.

  19. EtoGesic, a non-narcotic, non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), is a prescribed medication in managing fever, pain and inflammation caused by osteoarthritis or hip dysplasia in dogs. Like all NSAID medications, the mode of action of EtoGesic is the inhibition of cyclo-oxygenase activity by hindering the secretion of the body chemicals, prostaglandins. The anti-inflammatory, anti-pyretic, and analgesic properties of EtoGesic tablet makes it a trusted medication for pain management in dogs.
  20. My Frasier took the entire dose of meds for SLO for a couple of years including the tetrecycline, niacinamide, fish oil, prednisone and chlorphenerimine and the only thing he had any kind of reaction to was the pred, he was thirsty a lot and ate a lot! None of the other meds bothered him at all.
  21. I thank you all for your kind words and good thoughts. It's surprising how much it helps the grieving process. Anne
  22. What a handsome boy, I bet he looks awesome with his angel wings.
  23. I've been using it for almost a year now without any issues. My group here in Az recommended it to me. I see a huge difference in my dogs teeth, and I brush less. Good stuff!
