    Annie Passed

    Run free....sweet girl.
  2. DH's boy, EZ has been on Low Residue (the recalled one) since we got him nearly five years ago for the same reason. He is now temporarily on another veterinary formula. I'll have to look up the name. My others have been able to eat a turkey based one and have no problem. It's about 10 bucks a bag cheaper than the low res for the 55 lb bag.
  3. Thoughts are with sweet Manny. Just an FYI, Huperazine-A (a homeopathic drug) has been used w/some success w/seizures. Dr. Dodman at Tufts had me working with my boy Jack on it. Something you might want to research. Again, sending prayers.
  4. He left this world looking into the loving eyes of his people. I'm so sorry for your loss.
  5. This thread is hysterical (particularly the part about being yelled at for peeing in the house ). DH's greyhound, EZ, is very much a stoic dude. He will sometimes hang with us, but other times he likes his space - yet if I look over or sneak in to wherever he is, he always has one eye open or one ear up keeping track of us. When he is at his New York house w/hubby, at bed time he cuddles for 15 minutes in the bed, then leaves and goes to what was the spare room up there - but now is affectionately referred to by DH as the "dude" room. DH says that they're just two dudes sharing a house. But by morning, he is in bed for a 15 minute cuddle session as well! My Bridge Boy Jack and my Bridge Beagle Lily followed me EVERYWHERE. Lily at the end struggled move and would limp around following me. It got to the point where I would just sit in a chair in one room so she wouldn't have to move. Nothing beats the loyalty and devotion of a dog. My two new boys, JJ and Dustin, follow me room to room and usually just do random checks on me in the bathroom - i.e. check me out in the tub to be sure I haven't drowned!!! They clearly are pack boys!!!
  6. Boiled chicken or plain yogurt are always good for a sensitive stomach - especially if all that came up was bile and grass.
  7. Thoughts are with you at this most difficult time. You are so right to tell him that he will run free without pain. It is the one blessing that we can give them - to end discomfort at the end of an otherwise wonderful life.
  8. I'm so sorry for you. Godspeed Hana.
  9. Thoughts to you on his difficult day of rememberance.

    Truffles

    So sorry for your loss.
  11. Run Free, Groucho! May heaven be filled with baby opossums for you to take care of.
  12. Jeff...a little unrelated - but going back to when I registered in June. Because I had started to register once before, my email must have been in your system (removed) so it wouldn't let me use it again - forcing me to use my work one for notifications (removed). I don't really want to do that - but it still won't let me change to the mychip1 account. Any way the old registration of it can be cleared so I can use it again? Thanks.
  13. Actually, he was a track vet for a while. So, yes, he is savvy - and I think that's why he didn't rule out surgery - but clearly wants him in a more clinical environment where there is a cardiologist. I have no problem travelling to NJ as someone mentioned - or the cost involved as taking him to Tufts up here would be a similar cost. My bigger concern was that when he had surgery in 2008, for a soft-tissue cancer and the dental where he lost 17 teeth, he did not have the murmer (same vet) - but he clearly hears it now. He did indicate that if the murmer becomes one that requires medication, then our window of safety for surgery shrinks. To those who suggested Petzlife, I just purchased some of that - and the vet had suggested peroxide. It is such a hard decision - and after losing one so recently, I'm not so sure I'm objective - not to mention having to deal w/DH in this who doesn't want to face making such a call.
  14. My two new boys came right from the track. Not even from the adoption kennels. Their pads felt like silk!! It has been three months of neighborhood walking, and they are beginning to toughen. Your baby's feet will get there!! Eta: sorry posting from phone so hit wrong reply button. Meant to reply to main post.
  15. Absolutely beautiful. And the artwork is stunning.
