  1. My 9 year old Greyhound had Cervical Disc Arthroplasty in 2015. It was a very successful surgery.
  2. I used Dr. Jason King in Savannah for both of my hounds with neck/back issues. He is the best Neuro I know. His number is: 912- 662-7544
  3. Dr. Jason King in Savannah, Ga 912-662-7544 has operated on both of my Greyhounds. They both had disk problems. He is the best surgeon in the country. Why not send the tests to him?
  4. How much does he weigh? I have Thera Paw boots that fit a 60# and a 75# greyhound. They REALLY help them walk better. If you e-mail me privately your mailing address, I would be happy to send you one. Just let me know. Nan in the US.
  5. I can help you out with a Thera Paw boot for her corn foot. Please privately e-mail me with her weight and your snail mail address. I have some that fit Lady (60 lbs.) and DaVid (75 lbs.) Other than that I say to take her to a grey savvy vet.
  6. My Greyhound used to bite his nails and it was caused by the corns on his pads. We had them hulled each week.
  7. Cricket, I would love to be put on the Bluffton/Hilton Head contact list. I believe the one that was in Savannah years ago dissolved (but I am not really sure about this) Thanks, Nan
  8. Thanks everyone. Your response has meant a lot to me. Blessings to all of you. Nan
  9. I want to thank everyone. This is the worse week I have ever had in my life. Thanks everyone.
  10. Rachel, that would be just fine. Thank you so much.
  11. Just want my friends on GreyTalk to know I lost DaVId ( 11 year old Greyhound) Sunday afternoon. His racing name was JM'S Gone Bayou. He was my heart dog. Could someone please put his death date on Greyhounddata.com as 2-26-17? Thanks, Nan Wallace
  12. Dear Pam, I have lived in Savannah for over 40 years. I would love for you to pm me at: Walliered@aol.com Thanks, Nan
  13. Right now I am using Alaska Naturals Salmon Oil..I bought it on line. Usually I use Grizzly Salmon Oil, but there must be a problem because it is out of production until some time much later in the year…But, Alaska Salmon Oil is made and sourced in the USA and that is good enough for me.
  14. My Greyhound is allergic to chicken and has IBD. The Galgos eat Canadee (spelling?) But, when I have had to switch their food I would just ease into it..1/4 cup for a few days..1/2 cup for a few days..then all of their meal with the new food. I use salmon oil in my dogs food everyday and they have beautiful coats. Just got a Galgo about a week ago and his hair is already coming around.
  15. From the time Huck was diagnosed to putting him down was 4 days. The vet (specialist in cancer) could not get him to stop hurting, so I said it was time. He was only 6 years old. I do not regret making the decision.
  16. I am giving my hound 3 tram and 2 gab every 8 hours. This has been going on for several years.
  17. My Galgo will be at my house Sunday. I can't wait to meet him.
  18. Lady, my late Greyhound, used to chatter when she saw me. Every time.
  19. He is brand new in the house. He will learn in time to go outside. My last Galgo was the same and I put a belly band on him and it took about 2 weeks. Oh, forgot to say…go to Dollar General (or some cheap store) and buy a package of THICK pads..I think the ones for incontence (spelling?) work well…cut them in half and use half at a time…that will keep the belly bands cleaner and you will not be constantly washing them..Just a little trick I learned..lol
  20. Lady had several of her disks replaced with bionic ones. The surgery was done by Dr. Jason King in Savannah, Ga. A couple of years ago he was the only neurologist doing this type of surgery in the southeast. Great Dr.
  21. I am sure there are a lot of healthy Greyhounds out there, but mine were not healthy. I lost Huck at 6 from bone cancer. Lady at 11 from bone cancer. David is still alive at 11, but Huck, Lady and DaVid have had to go to vet for corn removal once a week for their whole life. DaVid has had back surgery 2 times and it was thousands of dollars each time. Lady had back surgery 3 times and it was again thousands of dollars. I also have 2 Galgos and so far they seem very healthy. I have Trupanion insurance on DaVid and Healthy Paws on Mousie and Ronnie (Ronaldo). Insurance REALLY pays off. I told my vet I will not consider getting another Greyhound, but would definitely consider a Galgo. But, your story may be different in a few years and I do wish you the best.
