Don't say that, Gideon. Take him to the vet and see what happens. Are you sure he can't see. Is it possible that something vestibular is going on.
Phene's pupils no longer contract. His eyesight is fine.
Please keep us posted, ok.
Phene went to the vet today for x-rays and further examination of his recent escalation of problems with his rear right leg. Some of the x-rays were suggestive of degenerative arthritis, while there was some unexplainable stuff that the vet hopes isn't osteo. He is sending the x-rays to OSU for further examination.
If it's arthritis (please keep your fingers and toes crossed), we will probably start using Adequan. Has anybody had any experience with it? Is it difficult to inject? Were the results of it's use positive?
Thanks
I wouldn't be surprised, but I don't know. He's no longer putting much weight on the rear right leg but last week Treasure stepped on it and then he slipped on the floor and hurt it again. He's on 25ml Metacam per day. Providing the x-rays don't show osteo or anything like that (the is pretty sure it isn't but I want to be sure), he will probably start long term management with rimadyl with blood tests every six months.
Phoenix, Treasure and Allen Ginsberg (my cat) are all best friends. Before I adopted Treasure, my bridge angel Loca wasn't cat safe at first. With a lots of training and patience, she also became best friends with my cat.
