Sending prayers and good thoughts for pretty Penny. I have another one who loves the Hills K/D. Especially the canned. I now add water to the kibble to be sure she is getting more. She's always been a good drinker but I like to be doubly sure.

Thank you, all. I got so ambitious yesterday that I managed two place two separate orders for the kidney kibble. Thankfully, one has now been canceled and refunded. I was getting very frustrated yesterday with the fact that so few companies list their phosphorous levels. I bought a small bag of Merrick since there are no by products. I have to admit that I was leaning toward the Hills so that may be in our future. Meanwhile, Aquitaine is over the moon with joy at having a can of food for each meal. She keeps running back after finishing to see if the bowl might have refilled itself.

I mix Aquitaine's kibble at approximately 50/50 senior kibble to kidney diet kibble and then supplement with 1/3 can of kidney diet. Now it looks like I will have to change. Open to all suggestions.

Thanks for the clip, I hadn't seen that here. My girl's food -- Canidae Platinum Senior -- is on the list. She is fine, I, however, have Salmonella. I didn't put together what has been going on in my body for the past 5-6 weeks -- I thought it was just a really long IBS flare up -- until I saw her food on the list and was able to pinpoint at least two incidents where I fed her and then was almost immediately...sick. Spoke to my doc yesterday who said Salmonella doesn't last 6 weeks -- then said it does when you are constantly exposing yourself to the contaminated food. Really ticks me off though, I've always heard how Salmonella makes you lose a ton of weight quickly. I haven't lost a darn pound! Aquitaine is thrilled, instead of a third of a can with kibble, her meals are now all canned until the new delivery of kidney diet kibble arrives. At least she is happy!

I am so very sorry for your loss of Teddy. I too learned not to let a day go by without loving on my girl. Hang on to the fact that Teddy lived every moment with you in the "now" and surrounded by love. He didn't know he was leaving. That leaves the pain for you to bear but that is the very small price we pay for the joy they give us. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Godspeed, Teddy.
