  1. Thanks, Val, for giving that "mature" guy such a good home! Give him some time to settle in before making any changes or "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!". Does "he" have a name?
  2. I have one that has been limping since March. She has been examined 4 times and xrayed from head to toes - literally - and n-o-t-h-i-n-g! No corns, no warts, no cuts, no bruises, no flinching even when the Vet tried to twist her leg off at the hip socket! (Just kidding, but I couldn't watch that part of the exam!) Suze is sssooo stoic! Very difficult to get any idea of the origin of the pain. Put a TheraPaw boot on her and the limp disappears! That would indicate her foot as the source of the pain, right? Wish it was that easy! I, too, am open to ANY and ALL ideas!
  3. If you're experiencing that hair-on-the-back-of-the-neck heebie-jeebies, I would take her in to see your Vet for a quick check and a senior blood panel. There are some things that can be so sneaky while developing, especially with seniors. Don't get overly concerned.............just follow your instincts. I'm sure you will BOTH feel better after getting the "all clear". Please keep us posted on how Angel is doing!
  4. Come on lucky number 3! Rockin' and rollin' down hill from tomorrow on! Still sending prayers, white light and hugs all around. Come on, Miss Polli! Your fan club is rooting for you to get through this and have an appetite, too! Let's give Mom a break with this one, OK?
  5. Doonie has been added to the prayer chain in our house. Hugs of comfort for you, too, Dave. Angels walk among us and one of them is named Dr. Couto.
  6. Stormy's fan club wants to know how he's doing today! Did he find some other tasty morsel too irresistible? Hope he's doing better!
  7. Ok, Tania, let Mom get a urine sample, go see the nice Doctor and get better soon, OK? Sending prayers, white healing light and hugs all around!
  8. There's no place like home! Heal, Luck! Heal! She is quite the cutie pie!
  9. What a difference a few weeks can make! She really looks good! (Can't believe it has been 6 weeks!)
  10. I think I'm in love! Of course it might be because I'm partial to black! Lola honey, you just relax and let Mom wait on you so you can concentrate on getting better!
  11. Yee-haw! What great news! Keep it up Stormy!
  12. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, including getting her mickey d's! Love Miss Ember's updates! She's one smart cookie and a real trooper! You go, girl! And Dad's not so bad either, but no fair messin' with the blankies, already! Hugs for you both!
  13. Oh, don't get me started! We have been attacked by the same Boxer - TWICE! Fortunately no one was hurt in either attack - the dog became so out of control that he threw himself against the front screen door and broke out of the house! The only difference in the second attack was that I ran into the owner in line on Election Day and after asking him EXTREMELY nicely if he fixed the front door, he said, "Oh, YOU'RE the one with the dogs who attacked my dog!" Double GGGrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I reported the incident to Animal Services and they are useless! The only information I was able to get out of them is to get a photo of the offenders committing an "offense". Other than that, it's my word against his.
  14. $6000 for chemo drugs (didn't know about Dr. Cuoto or the free drug program at OSU), office visits, supplies, examinations, blood work, drugs, prescription drugs, e-vet visits, overnight stays when my wonderful Vet knew I was exhausted, supplements, the original surgical removal of a lymph node, anesthesia, sutures. All that from Nov. 19, 2005 to May 1st, 2006.
  15. Lots and lots of prayers for Sugar and hopes that the antibiotics will take care of whatever-it-is and that will be it!
  16. Sending positive thoughts, prayers and healing white light for precious Cyah!
  17. Sending lots of prayers and healing white light to Rocky. Hugs for you, Sue.
  18. No matter what the circumstances, it is always the last decision that anyone wants to make. You have done all you can for her and more, I am sure. Hold Bell close to you and tell her that you love her and will tell the baby all about her. I am so sorry this is happening to you and DH at this special time in your life. Sending prayers and hugs of comfort.
  19. I would also ask to see one of the other vets. Six days is just too long to wait. Sending prayers and white light for Sugar.
  20. Nikki was diagnosed with lymphosarcoma on November 22, 2005 - and it was everywhere! Did chemo but she only made it half way through - she just couldn't tolerate it. Put her on massive dose of pred and she made it to May 1, 2006. There are no easy choices or answers for lymphoma. Everyone has their own tolerance level for what they are willing to put their dog through, put themselves and their families through and what they can afford. As others have said more eloquently than I, talk with trusted friends, your Vet and do some research. Ask about treatment options, side effects, alternative medicine, cost and quality of life issues. Whatever decision is made will be the right one. I am so sorry that your friend is facing these challenges. I will hold her and her hound gently in my heart and sending many prayers her way.
  21. Oh, that's wonderful! Lucy in the sky with diamonds is on her way home! Yeah! I'll bet Mom is grinning from ear to ear! Can't wait to hear the diagnosis. This was a very strange set of symptoms!
  22. Aaww! She's a real cutie pie! So sorry she's in a bad way. Sounds like Dr. S is a keeper! Regardless, after devouring each and every word, I'm sending the brightest white light to cute Happy and hugs for her Mom!
  23. Beautifully said and so true. Prayers and hugs during this difficult time.
