My really good friend had to let her grey, Anubis (Nubee), go today. He was diagnosed with thyroid cancer about a month ago. This weekend he took a turn for the worse and she and her husband made the decision to let him be pain free. I am heart broken. He was such a sweet dog. He was like one of my own. Run free Nubee. Rusty and Solo and the others are waiting for you.

I'm so sorry. At least she got to be loved and that's all that matters.

I wouldn't be too concerned. Some dogs just like being by themselves. Franny is one of them. We hardly know she is around because she is always in the other room sleeping. She comes out by us when it suits her. It's just the way she is and we have accepted that.

Totally normal. Franny sleeps so much that I sometimes forget I have a dog.

Rusty barked on occasion, Solo barked once in the six years we had him, and Franny will play bark at me or she will bark when outside and sees deer in the yard. So out of the three she is the most vocal, but still quiet compared to my neighbors yippers.

I'm so sorry Sarah. She is breathing better and running with all the others again.

I'll second that. She just might be very comfortable staying on her green rug. Franny doesn't go on the furniture/beds either, and that's be her choice.

I just saw them on Sunday and her dog for sure has the first three symptoms. They have him in a belly band now. He is very skinny. I don't know about his appetite. I think that is pretty good. He's a major counter surfer. I have noticed his coat looks real dull. I'll have to check out his skin the next time I see them. I'm not sure if they have him on any meds or not, but he's not really the same dog as he was when they got him a few years ago.

My friend thinks her 10 y.o. grey has Cushings. I'm not familiar with it. Anyone's dog been diagnosed with it? What are the symptoms, prognosis, etc?
