  1. I did. Hobbes was very sick in the beginning of November, he ended up having to be at the vets on a IV for 6 days. We brought him back and forth between the regular vets and the E-vets each evening and morning. The two vet clinics are partnered so they shared info and were both helpful. I trust my regular vet and I didn't want to change clinics during a crisis so I did what had to be done.
  2. Hobbes is 75lbs and fits no problem in the medium. The large would be to big for sure.
  3. The pawz arn't very warm but since they keep the paws perfectly dry it seems to be enough, at least for Hobbes anyways. When he will be out for a long time I put the baby socks underneath but again it takes time to do all that.
  4. This is pretty much my exact guide line as well. It's been really cold here the last few days, this morning it was -30C (-22F) with the wind chill, needless to say we were out for a very short time.
  5. I have those as well. They are great, they stay on and are completely waterproof.
  6. I use the baby socks all the time, they work great when it's really cold. You may need to put some medical tape around the top of the sock just to hold it in place.
  7. Good Girl Sadie!!! Keep getting better.
  8. My friend recently adopted a 4yr English bull dog who had been used for breeding at a puppy mill. She came to them in absolute deplorable condition but with proper care had been doing really well. Last week however she started to have muscle tremors in her large muscles masses, mainly the shoulders and hip muscles. Mia is completely alert during these episodes but seems to be in pain. After the trembling stops she becomes very tired and hot. She will seek out cool areas lay down and just pant. My friend also noted that before these episodes her paws become very red and hot. The vet is stumped as to what it might be. Her blood work came back normal except for a high red blood count. Anyone every encounter anything like this?
  9. Thanks. Most health foods are already closed tonight but I'll go look for it first thing in the morning.
  10. Hobbes is lame on his right hind leg after a greyhound fun run today. He ran pretty hard so I'm pretty sure he just pulled a muscle or something. When he first gets up it's quite noticeable but he walks out of it after a minute or so. Is there anything over the counter I can give to him? I don't think it's worthy of a vet trip but I don't want him uncomfortable.
  11. Awww what a cutie  Congratulations on the addition!!
  12. I'm glad I'm not the only one with a bald dog. Hobbes has no hair on his butt, belly or neck. No matter what supplements I give him I see no new hair growth. I do have to agree though, it's perfect for raspberries and kissing.
  13. Did they test for lepto? Sounds just like what I just went through with Hobbes. Prayers to your sweet girl that they find out what is going on.
  14. It's probably the DAP diffuser collar. It releases a pheromone that a mother dog gives off shortly after birth. It is supposed to make a dog feel all warm and safe, just like when they were a puppy. It works for some dogs, not so much for others.

    Chinghis

I am so very sorry for your loss.
  16. We did a second set of titer tests early last week, and finally the mystery is solved. He ended up having a strong positive for Leptospirosis Pomona. The first test was probably done before his body had time to make antibodies, so we only got a weak positive. I can't be happier that this whole thing is now behind us, and I can get on with spoiling my old Hobbsey man!!
  17. Sending many prayers to your bossy man tonight.
  18. I'm so glad you still get to spoil your boy for a while longer. Cherish this time together, it's a gift.
  19. Don't worry about the bilirubin in his urine, it's common in male greyhounds. When Hobbes had a UTI a while back a vet (one who I thought was greyhound savvy) got me all concerned about this exact same thing. The vet also mentioned about liver problems and what not, I come to find out it's nothing at all.
