  1. I changed the appointment till tomorrow, so I could see a vet I have a lot more respect for. Wally actually hasn't had any accidents today, so who knows whats going on.
  2. Sending prayers that the surgery is a success.
  3. That eases my mind a bit. Did Flame have accidents because of it?
  4. My heart goes out to your family. I hope you find some answers soon.
  5. It's mainly him drinking frequently, but at times he will drink a lot in one go.
  6. It's been 3 1/2 weeks since Wally came home and he is still drinking a huge amount of water. I made an earlier post about it and was told it was quite common in dogs new to the home. I always have water available for him and he is never crated anymore so he always has access to it. Also he doesn't seem stressed by anything, he is one mellow dog. Shouldn't the water consumption at least have slowed down a bit by now? I'm getting quite concerned they may be something medical going on. My other grey has kidney issues and excess water consumption and urination is one of the symptoms. Wally has had only one accident in the house in 3 weeks then the last few days has had a lot of accidents. I've been there every time and told him no firmly and brought him out immediately but the accidents continue. I suspect a UTI but that doesn't explain why he drinks so much. This may not be connected to the issue but his initial blood work showed a low calcium level. All this has me worried something more sinister is going on. I'll be going to the vets with him on Monday but just want to see if anyone has some thoughts on the matter.
  7. I'm so very sorry. You are doing the bravest and most noble thing for her as hard as it might be. You and Isis are in my prayers today.
  8. Hello, Nice to see you over on this forum. So how is Ranger doing? And Maui she is quite some looker
  9. I'm so very sorry for your family. Polli was well loved, and I'm sure she knew it. Run free sweet Polli.
  10. I didn't end up taking him back to the vets, I called the e vet and explained the wound the best I could. They suggested I just continue with what my vet has done. Wally doesn't seem bothered by it at all so I'll just try to keep it as clean as I can.
  11. I'm going to bring him to the e vet tonight. Unfortunately I have to go out this afternoon but I'll bring him when I get back. He was sent home with an antibiotic which he already got. Poor boy.
  12. Do you think I should bring him to the e-vet to get it stitched?
  13. I'm so sorry to read this. Cherish the time that you have with your sweet girl.
  14. Wally cut his side somehow at the park today. I took him to the vet who wants to leave it open and just gave me some antibiotics and a wound scrub. I trust my vet but to me I think it needs a couple of stitches. What do you guys think? I'm a bit of a worry wart but it's still bleeding 3 hours later.
  15. I have only had him since Thursday but so far he has good poop. He is on the thin side though so I don't know if he had previous tummy problems or not.
  16. What was the value, and what's the normal range for the lab your vet uses? I forgot to ask. The vet is going to call be back about something else later this week so I'll ask then.
  17. I took Wally to get a wellness vet check yesterday. His blood work came back great except for a low calcium level. My vet doesn't want me to supplement it for the time being as she wants to see where it's at in 3 months. Does anyone know if this is this common in greyhounds? Does anyone know what would cause it?
  18. I just brought Wally home and I've noticed he has a lot of pimples and black heads on his tummy and bum. Some are red and swollen but it's mainly large patches of black heads under the skin. What causes this and is there something I should do to do to clear it up? He is going for a wellness exam at the Vets on Monday, I'll bring it up with them but thought I would ask here first.
  19. Howdy/Calvin/I have know idea what to call him has a new name. After much debate we have decided on the name Wally. Completely different then the two other names but we just weren't going to agree. My DH suggested Wally and I think it will really suit him, so were going with it.
  20. I like it, it very subtle connection. Of the two Howdy is the far more social dog so it fits.
  21. Here is a link to my other thread Linky but I thought I would do a proper introduction. We officially adopted TNJ Boy Howdy today. He is a sweet boy who stole my heart as well as my DHs. He is set to come home in early spring but I have a feeling it may be sooner then that. He is the brindle on the left. The poor boy doesn't yet have a official pet name. His kennel name is Howdy which I'm not a fan of but my DH likes. I want to call him Calvin (My other Dog is Hobbes) but my DH doesn't like it. So what do other people think. Feel free to come up with your own if you like neither.
  22. Congratulations and welcome to the forum. I love the name by the way. If you look at my siggie you'll see why. LOl
