  1. I'm so sorry for your losses - it's devastating to lose one, but three so close together I can't begin to imagine .
  2. Can't you simply avoid the pebbly areas of the beach? Ours stay on their leads until we are well away from the pebbly areas. We know how far they're likely to run so we allow for that as well. Toe injuries can have the dog out of action for months so in my view it's well worth doing what you can to prevent them. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure and all that!
  3. Oh my goodness ... I'm so sorry ... what a terrible shock for you all . Rest in peace, Hector.

  16. Another shocked person here . Gus is one of the first hounds that I remember from when I joined GT. You replied to one of my posts about Sunny with the comment that you had one just like him at home. I always looked out for posts and pictures of Gus after that. I'll miss him, even though I only knew him through his presence on GT. I am so very sorry that Gus has had to leave you . RIP Gus
  17. We had a greyhound once that very rarely drank water out of his bowl and when he did it was literally only one or two laps. We tried him with bottled water instead, in case he didn't like the taste of tap water, but that didn't make any difference. We mentioned it to our vet but he said it wasn't really a problem as long as he was eating. In the end I just added more water to his food and fed him three meals a day to make sure he was getting enough.
  18. I read your blog too and Ferris does look very sweet and gentle - so sorry you had to say goodbye to him and that poor Magnolia is missing him too . RIP Ferris
