  1. I'm just now seeing this. Please know that I'm keeping Carrier in my thoughts & prayers.
  2. Poor Zoe. My bridge boy, Keno, did that twice -- he was a wild thing in his younger days. The second time he did it was very bloody and painful. Anyway, my vet told me to keep it very clean to prevent a nail bed infection. I kept a cotton baby sock taped over it to keep him from licking it (he was terrible about that) and then put plastic wrap over it when he went outside to keep the mud/dirt from getting to it. Keno was on oral antibiotics and he gave me something to clean it with, but I don't remember what it was. I now use a natural ointment called Wounded Warrior for most cuts and wounds. It doesn't sting and it's very soothing (has calendula in it). I use it on myself too. Feel better soon Zoe.
  3. .... gone from your sight but never from your heart ....
  4. Hello, welcome, and congratulations! I agree that the adoption group should be thrilled that you've given Jackie a loving home and should welcome you into their fold if you have the desire to become a volunteer.
  5. Patsy and family! I look forward to hearing more about her and seeing lots of pictures. She's beautiful! ETA Congratulations!

    I'm so sorry.
  9. Welcome to GT. I'm sorry it's under such sad circumstances that we first meet you, but I think you've already seen what a supportive group this is. I lost my almost 13 year old boy, Keno, a year ago this month. He had LS and LP (laryngeal paralysis) and his autoimmune system was completely failing at the end. It's such a helpless feeling. You and your wife have my utmost sympathy and empathy as you make this journey with your beloved Allie.
  10. Hoping for a quick and uneventful recovery!
  11. Such a love and such a special boy ....
  12. I just saw this. I'm sorry you're going through this, but am so glad for Bruce that you're there for him. I'm pleased to see that he's doing better. Sending an abundance of positive, healing thoughts to you both.
  13. I'll be watching this with interest too. I have some concerns about Carly's eyes -- they're red and itchy. I don't see any clouding in her corneas or iris like the photos in the Grassmere link show, but I'm assuming those pictures show pannus that's fairly advanced? I hope you get good news about, Grace. I'll be checking back for an update. ETA: this LINK provides more description of the disease but doesn't have pictures.
