  1. Welcome from Waterloo! Looking forward to hearing more about Pax and the crew.
  2. Heather, I'm so sorry for this news. What a special girl in her own special way
  3. Congratulations...that pic brought tears to my eyes...what a lovely story and what greyt friends you have!
  4. Sending nice warm healing thoughts for the beautiful Daytona and a hug for you
  5. Your tribute was so beautiful...as was she...I'm so sorry for your loss.
  6. Our female Brooke is still at her racing weight and she gets about 4.5 - 5 cups a day and she weighs about 61 lbs. Once she starts gaining weight, I'll cut back if necessary, but for now, she gets lot of exercise and bounces around the house and yard. Ben gets about 4 cups and at 8 yrs old, has maintained his weight for the last 5 years between 64-65 lbs. He raced at 61 lbs. I found a kibble through trial and error that they both do well on but it took a few months. I also add some raw occasionally, I haven't quite converted to raw because there's so much that Ben doesn't like. I fed Nutro a number of years ago but would never feed Nutro now.
  7. Sending lots of warm healing thoughts for Jade
  8. I agree with Nancy, you will get through it, sometimes minute by minute, but the most important thing right now is that you have her and you have done everything for her out of love and need to continue doing so.
  9. Happy Bridge Birthday girls...it's hard isn't it, losing them to cancer so close to each other. Hope you can remember good times today
  10. I am so sorry for your loss of Danny, he sounds like he brought so much joy into your life.

    Larry

Adrianne, I just wanted to let you know I think about you a lot these days. I remember when you asked me about adopting Brooke so soon after losing Bailey, and when Larry came into your life, you understood. Greyhounds are angels in disguise. I wish we didn't have to make painful decisions, but we do, and we do it out of love. As a very good friend said to me, we take all the pain from their wee bodies and put in our hearts once we let them go.
  12. Welcome from Ontario. There's lots of threads on GT about alone training if you want more info.
  13. Welcome from Ontario! Greyt pics...thanks for sharing.

    Larry

I'm so sorry it was his time to go...what a lovely tribute...and what a legacy sweet Larry leaves.
  15. I'm so sorry, you will be in my thoughts today. How sad for everyone.
  16. Hi Jan...welcome from Ontario from another Jan!
  17. btdt...a few times...I found keeping to a regular routine helps, probably because they've had a regular routine at the track, and letting them get comfortable on their own without overwhelming them helped here. Having another grey also helped though, Brooke stuck to Ben like glue at first. Yummy treats will help build trust and walks will help with the bonding process, at least this has been my experience. and don't confuse "couch potato" behaviour with sadness...she may just be chilling!
  18. Checking in your an update...so glad I waited for the good news wtg Charlie and very happy for you too Kyle.
  19. I never give my greys "rawhide". Have you tried toys that are virtually non-destructible?
  20. I'm so sorry for your loss of Rocky. Beautiful pics of your handsome Rocky...he was so young. How sad.
