  1. I am so sorry Mo! I hope it is a type that gives you much more spoiling time.
  2. Shanti appears to have a runny nose. What is dripping out is off color, not clear. Orangeish/yellow. At first I thought Asti was leaking pee. Nope. Never seen this before. In my mind a runny nose is either nervous or a problem. She goes in to the vet next Thursday. Should I worry prior to this? I have noticed it a couple times in the past few days. It shows up on white tile. Any thoughts? She is a Valley Fever dog. I don't know if that matters or not.
  3. I am so sorry! What wonderful photos. A very handsome boy gone to soon.
  4. The cold may make her stiffer. Glad she is doing better! Shanti went bald again on her thighs and her thyroid tanked. We had to increase her soloxine. Guessing you are right on that one. Give the girls a kiss for me.
  5. Pill guns are helpful. Shanti gets a lot of medicine daily. She no longer eats most of the goodies I hid it in. So far Velveeta is the bomb!!! I is smushy and wraps and sticks to the pills. Occasionally I have to shove them down, but mostly she will eat them. It is the only thing that has lasted in this house.
  6. I can't believe it has been 2 years. The tears slow down, but the pain and whole they leave remain. She was a special girl!
  7. Such a hard day. A pup with some great stories for all of us here. As your heart is now broken, know we are thinking of you and hoping for happiness again in the future.
  8. Thinking of you today. It is the most loving thing to do, yet the hardest.
  9. A life cut too short. Not fair.
  10. I miss that goofy girl too! She is one of my favorites. I can't believe it has been a year!!!
  11. Thanks Sheila, I got the PM with the address. I will try it. I got a message from my vet yesterday. She is as frustrated. The only good I see on her is that she appears to feel better on the outside. The inside numbers still suck.
  12. I don't think she has contacted her. I know she spoke to another vet out there. Another one that was big in this field, but I can't remember her name for the life of me right now. Cynthia Harmony? I will have her contact Dr. Stack.
  13. Thanks Christie! Lucy (Rileysmomma) did my siggy this time. I feel the need to go to Hawaii. Yes. She was on it from the day I got her. We tested her every 6 months for a while then moved to a year. It has never really varied. Now she is at .5 while on .5mg of Soloxine 2x a day. Last testing she was 1.5. So we will increase her dose and retest in a couple of weeks. Explains why her thighs went bald again. I will ask if there is a link to the VF and thyroid. Seems odd that after 4 years of no change it tanks.
  14. I figure Shanti will be on medicine for life. She is currently on 276mg x 2 day. She does well thankfully on it. Now we got out thyroid test back (in hours) and she is REALLY low. So we are increasing her soloxine. Wonder if it has anything to do with the VF and medicine for that? For 5 years it has not changed and now it has. Go figure!
  15. I am a bit frustrated today. We have been battling VF for 16 months. I just saw Shanti's latest VF titer test results. They are no better than her tests a year ago and worse than the ones 6 months ago. Her Igm is back to positive. Her IgG is still 1:32. Her titer has not decreased at all. It may never from what I hear. But why are we bouncing back to positive?!?!? That means the infection is fired up or on the move. That frustrates me! Anyone else have a pup with Valley Fever that has done this?
  16. We tried it. Shanti got snotty and snapped at my kids so she got banned. She briefly had bed privileges too. Until I went to get my then 5 year old up for school and he was not in his bed. Shanti was and would not let him back in after going potty in the middle of the night. I found my kid on the couch. BANNED! Now we snuggle on the living room floor and it works for us all. Now when we are gone...she helps herself to the couches.
  17. I can't believe it has been 6 months. I know it seems like just yesterday but yet forever ago.
  18. I am so sorry. He was a tough guy!
  19. I am so sorry. That last pictures just melts the heart.
  20. I would guess he is reacting to the tramadol. My girl is on it and has no issues with it. It knocks her flat if I give her 2 2x a day. Lucy (Rileysmomma) had Riley on it recently (you can search for her thread) and Riley was doing the same thing. Can your vet try another pain killer?
  21. Shanti had a bad reaction to it. She freaked out about 3-4 hours after application. Screamed, ran in circles, kept biting at her self. I bathed her at about 11pm and she settled down a bit. I won't use it again on her. My German Shepard does fine with it.
  22. Shanti did not use her right front for years. Now she is starting. Her left front seemed more splayed out and her right tightened in, if that makes sense. I asked the vet about it. It is due to the more weight bearing and no weight bearing. It is changing a bit now that she is using her right leg again.
