  1. Nothing makes that easier!!! I'm so sorry. I can't even imagine losing 2 at the same time.
  2. I'm so sorry! How devastating. Valley fever is nasty! May Tony and Dot be playing together at the bridge.
  3. I got a call from the vets. Nala's ashes are back. Ouch.
  4. I'm so sorry! So painful when their bodies fail them. . Run pain free Heart! You are with some amazing angels.
  5. Shanti and Asti are on a food strike. . I put their food down, they walk over to Nalas empty stand look then leave. Asti has been rubbing herself on Nalas bed. Shanti keeps taking it. So sad. I vacuumed up all her hair dragons today. Hunter wanted me to leave it as it was all we had left.
  6. And you know first hand she is not one for photos.
  7. It's kinda special. We were sharing a moment. Not great quality or flattering, but very meaningful to me.
  8. What can I say, I can't believe she is gone! My baby girl grizzly bear. She was the amazing rescue story. When we got her she did not like other dogs or people. No one could come near me. She and Kona went at it for a while. And...there was not a piece of furniture or item in my house shoulder height down she did not eat or destroy! The cops were called on us regularly. Good thing they liked us and her. When we moved to our house she would escape everyday after breakfast and I went to work. We would come home to "we have your dog messages". She did it every night after dinner. She NEVER missed a meal!!! Nothing like looking for a black dog in a park at 3am only to get pummeled from behind by her. Usually after rolling in something lovely. Because of her we built a fence all the way to our roofline. She could no longer get out! This troublesome dog grew into the most amazing, loyal dog ever! She took a vow of silence about 10 years ago. Go figure! She began to love everyone. Car rides were fun, not a torture trip to who knows where. She looked like the watch dog...she would let you in and show you around. But hey, looks scared people. We went to Disneyland one day and forgot our front door open. We came back 10 hours later and she and Kona were just hanging out. They don't dare leave the property unless told. Again....go figure! She was scheduled for surgery on July 15 for toe amputation due to cancer. It did not appear to have spread, but now we are not so sure. Something went horribly wrong in her body. We suspect a tumor or something in her brain. She had severe neurological damage. Her back end was useless, her front end was barely responsive and her neck and face were not responsive. Nothing I could have done would have helped her. I hate that! So she and I laid on the vets floor covered in hair with fans they had for her to get her temp to drop and said goodbye. Something I would have given anything to not have to do. So my Nala, run free my grizzly bear! Eat all you want up there! Lord knows, you were always hungry! She gained weight on air! Find Kona baby. I will see you again someday. I'm guessing you will sneak up and knock me on my butt. I am lucky to have had you grace my life for 13 years!!! I love you and miss you baby! Nala and I yesterday She ate that couch. Big Rawhide! Camping in our RV
  9. Thank you for adding Nala. She is not a grey, but my baby none the less. It killed me to let her go! My heart is shredded!
  10. Velveeta! Open mouth hold it up and drop it in. Most times she will just eat it. If not I drop it in and down it goes. . Velveeta is tbe only thing that works consistently. Meat she chews which crushes pills and makes a bad tasting mess.
  11. She is scheduled for surgery July 15. Wish we didn't have this issues but it's something we can probably fix.
  12. Shanti took it for a while. If I remember right she got that with pepcid. She did well on it for a while.
  13. I heard that stitching is the tricky part. Since it's the end toe it might be a bit less tricky.
  14. She said I could wait a couple weeks but not months. Wonder if July 5 would be better? Nalas is her left inner toe, front leg.
  15. Her P3 is obliterated and they plan on taking p2. It does not look affected from the X-rays. Hopefully that gives us a clean margin.
  16. Im getting Nala scheduled for toe amputation. It appears to be cancer. I have a work trip then she goes in. Anyone had this done? How long are they down for? My hope is to do it on a Friday so I'm home with her a couple days straight. I'm worried about complications and the 4th of July. More stress and my vets closed. So many things I'm thinking. Anyone have insight?
  17. I am so sorry Robin! Phene was countering Locas wild antics. You can't have 2 wild ones! May he reunite with Loca and watch over you.
  18. Is it just joints swelling? Did they test for valley fever? She came out of Arizona and Mexico right? One of your pups came from the same kennel as shanti. Shanti was a wreck and we did a ton of tests. Her VF was negative at first then positive. It strangely keeps flip flopping from positive to negative. It was tbe lymph node culture that gave us confirmation of VF.

I too miss the fantastic antics on Loca! I think about the wine thief a lot. The girl had good taste!
  20. I'm so sorry! They never get to stay long enough.
  21. Godspeed Vinny. . I'm so sorry! A big beautiful red fawn angel.
  22. I am so sorry. Shanti had so many problems on prednisone and imuran. Munchie is so young. Not fair! I wish I knew of something you could do. Lord knows you are trying everything!
