Guest SkinnyLegDogLover Posted February 10, 2005 Share Posted February 10, 2005 (edited) This afternoon Copycat crossed the Bridge to be with her brother & sister. All was fine at 5:30 AM when we woke up. But as I was leaving for work just before 7, for reasons I'll never understand, her back legs went limp and wobbly. She made it from the living room to her bed in the bedroom, where she rested comfortably for a while until her breathing became labored. I took her to the Vet, where she arrested upon arrival. They were able to find a heartbeat with CPR, but she was not coming back. I had to make the decision to help her cross. She was my heart dog, by my side every moment I was home. Tomorrow morning will be the first time in 6 1/2 years I will wake up without her by my side. I was in the process of planning her 10th birthday, which would have been exactly one month from today. Instead, I will be picking up her ashes at about that time. She was so loved. Her last few days were filled with kisses, walks, massages, a few good brushings (her favorite) and she even got to enjoy her Burpdog Valentine heart. I was so blessed to have her love for just a few short years. Copycat, my sweetest of the sweet, I will miss you so much, and never forget you.
