GeorgeofNE
I see Seresto does claim to repel ticks! My bad. For what it's worth, Buck got fleas wearing a Seresto collar. So I'm not a fan. Uhm, excuse me, but it seems rather clear that what's working is not your garlic, but your Preventic collar, Racingdogron! Quote Susan, Hamish, Mister Bigglesworth and Nikita Stanislav. SPDoggie
I'll just say that our dogs had reaction to the topicals (itching, diarrhea, to shaking) and the Serresto collar has not caused any of that, while keeping fleas away these past 3 summers.... we'll see what happens with this-years tick situation. fastpointydoge
I'm in the same boat; my new dog came with a six month supply of Advantage but that doesn't cover ticks so I'm doing research. This thread has been perfect since I know Greyhounds can be sensitive to some chemicals/medication. We walk in the woods daily so I know we'll need something soon! I'm also trying something else new I heard about. It said to run a lint roller over them right after exposure and that it will actually help pick up the tiny nympts and ticks etc. I don't know if it is true yet-they did have a convincing picture- but I'm going to try it next week when we will be deep in the woods. I picked up 2 extreme stick rollers at walmart to investigate hehe.
