Guest Waterdog66
We just brought our new hound Audrey home yesterday. We adopted from HoundSavers and it has been an awesome experience. Audrey is an almost 5 year old ex-racer from Agua Caliente Race Track and from what I can tell, had a strong career. Our job now is to provide her with the happiest years of her life in retirement. She settled very quickly and just seem to know that all of the dog beds and stuffies were hers. (It looks like she is sleeping in the top floor of FAO Schwarz) Her only challenge has been the stairs. She is great going down but not so much going up. (She keeps getting stuck on the middle landing) So far; her favorite thing to do is COME HOME after a walk or short trip. She also seems very acquainted with the Greyhound rulebook. (Especially the bit about no human in the house without a furry escort) Cheers

Guest Waterdog66
Here is a link to Audrey in the turnout area at the center when we adopted her. I snapped a bunch of photos with my camera and here is one of the "Money Shots". Hmmm... I guess I can't share photos from a DropBox Album....Here is a link to the photo instead. https://www.dropbox.com/s/bnmgtvpdh6mk4zy/IMG_9482.jpg Edited April 29, 2013 by Waterdog66

Guest Waterdog66
Audrey seems about average in size for a Female and she is about 60 pounds. Her last race was in January and is pretty thin. My guess is she will put on a few pounds in the coming months and has a very healthy appetite. reLike her namesake, she is very petite, even for a Greyhound. https://www.dropbox.com/s/x3yurqd1by6qf1o/IMG_9528.jpg Still gotta figure out why my photos don't show. Methinks it might be a size issue; I might try and scale them down and see if embedding will work.

Yup, I do run marathons and thanks for the tip on the GWC. I really want to bring her to one of these events. Unfortunately we are going to be out of town this weekend and won't be back in time for the walk. Too bad since this is right around the corner from where I live. Will have to try for next month. Awesome; thanks for all of your hard work. Audrey is doing Fabulous. I don't have a photo bucket account but might have to break down and get one. I am going to try one other place I already have photos hosted before I get to that point.

My husband is the one who does marathons on his handcycle and we've talked at one of the Open Houses about the LA Marathon and the Long Beach Marathon. I remember you were at the Boston Marathon. This is me and Rabbit at one of GAC's Open Houses (to help put a face to the screenname): The official Facebook page for the group is here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/113940985289664/ so you can either join (I don't know if you have to be invited, if so, let me know and I will invite you) or just follow the page for updates. The walks are once a month, although they have usually been on Saturday mornings, so I haven't been able to make them because I host a monthly show & tell in Brea the same day. The group tries to alternate the walks between north and south SD county. I hope you can join one! I thought of you guys when they were unveiling the statue of Dick and Rick Hoyt in Hopkinton this year. (Start line of the Boston Marathon) I am a member of the FB Group and will surely be getting out to some of these walks. Since leaving GAC Audrey has not seen anyone from the Greyhound Tribe and I am hoping it will work out. She does great in the car so I will probably go anywhere the walking group is. (I don't have to stay in North County) I WILL be at the Reggae Fest as this is just before we leave for Colorado next month for Training Camp.
