I swore I could never bring another one home because of the pain we feel when they leave us.. I still haven't posted many pictures of Nike because I can't look at them like I use too. Well Nike sent me an angel to help heal my heart.. When one door closes another one opens.. It was like a miracle for all involved.. When the flood in Nashville , Tenn, where my son lives, wiped out his neighborhood, streets, houses, you name it , happened just recently we thought what would happen to the greyhounds.. His back yard had 15 ft of water.. I posted it on greytalk and someone named Debbie with a heart of gold stepped in and said I can watch them a few weeks.. She took my son's 3 greys home while they cleaned up the mess the flood made.. Nobody got mail, there were no mail boxes!! So here comes a letter he opened recently that said your dog is leaving the track and is on his way to N.J. greyhound angels.. I looked it up on the internet and found him.. He had arrived a few weeks ago.. Knowing my son couldn't take him with the flood damage , his girlfriend and little girl had lost every single thing they owned too so couldn't take him , and were actually homeless with the flood...{All worked out since then. thanks to FEMA}. We knew we had to take him. He is a gentle sweet little angel..I remember the night my son named him Buckeye Bullet after the Ohio State Buckeyes...We will call him Bullet.. He is precious, and coming right off the track needs to learn a lot of new things.. Thanks to many of you including Pat,Judy, Nancy and Heather who have been helping me through the pain and helping me understand how to teach him the ropes.. Nike had come from the prison program so steps were no problem.. LOL.. Thanks to Lisa, Robin M. , Lynn, Terri ,and Freddie's Girl {Nancy}, from greyhound angels for taking him in til we could get him home... I have some cute pics to post.. Tears are coming down my face.. Tears of joy I guess since it has been so emotional these past few months..
