No advice, just prayers. I hope the infection can be quickly remedied and Passion can go back to being her silly self.

Edited to add, what was the soak that LynnM and Pam used for poor Ranchie? Domebro or something like that, I think. Might try running that idea by your vet? I guess I did have some advice after all, LOL!

Kari, contact Sherry (gratefulhounds), I can't find the email she sent me, but sounds similar to what her Danny went thru. Sending prayers Miss Passion feels better VERY soon.

I'll be keeping Passion in my prayers and my fingers crossed that this IS the correct diagnosis and can be treated quickly for your baby.

Well my prayer for it to NOT be osteosarcoma was answered. BUT I didn't

want this either.

Remember when I told you Gogh might have osteo but that we were waiting

to see if it could just be a bone infection instead, this is what we were hoping

for.

I hate that its anything. No one this sweet deserves this.

I wish you lived closer so I could come hug you. :grouphug

Sending healing thoughts for Passion, who is obviously in "full swing" for the Holiday weekend! rolleyes.gif

Goldie had something like you described, back in Jan., and it turned out to be arthritis.

No worries, Ok?

Um, tell Passion the vet may have meant warm, CLEAN water for soaking.... :P At least she's amiable to the soaking idea!

I did dump the pool out last night. The prob is, my yard is mostly dirt so it will just keep getting dirty :lol

And she's not supposed to walk so I've been carrying her. As much as she likes being a princess, she doesn't really like being carried

I let her eat in my bed this morning ohmy.gif

Thanks for praying for us the last few weeks

I probably should have taken her to the vet when she first started limping but she would stop after a day or so

Then we'd walk and she'd limp again for a day or two

But after we walked on Sunday, she didn't stop limping and it was swollen :(

I was hoping that it was just from digging since I was able to get some dirt out of the nail bed the other night

I hope the infection clears up and Passion is back to herself in a few days. The picture of her in her pool is adorable. :colgate

Passion, you're too adorable in that pool. Tell mom to add some epsom salt, let it sit in the sun and voila!

Kari, Sounds just like what Misty was going thru. But she had an inclusion cyst at the naill bed that made the x-ray all cloudy.

Here's a note from my vet yesterday. I love my vet.Kari,I spoke with Dr. McHale and based on the circumstances described to me I really don't think cancer is the issue. The likelihood is that this is not a full blown osteomyelitis, but rather a soft tissue infection that has had a minor affect on adjacent bone, it should respond well to the Clindamycin that has been prescribed. Don't get too worried yet. I'll view the x-rays on Tuesday and call you at that time. Have a great weekend and relax.

Maybe the antibiotic is upsetting her tummy? Hope she's feeling better soon.

I suspect that could be the case

Thanks Judy

She's ok to cut back alittle on her food

She's 55 lbs and no ribs but I still fret when they don't eat

Worth trying the 1 regular-strength pepcid (10mg famotidine - generic is cheap), wait 30-40 minutes, feed, then pill.
