Jake has been in pain for awhile now and even had a home vet visit 2 weeks ago due to severe pain in either his hips and/or legs. he is on 2 pain meds now and at least he can get up and walk a bit.

Tomorrow at 8:30 he has to go to the vet for x-rays and will be under anesthesia :unsure DH and I have discussed in detail the possible outcomes of the x-rays that the vet is suggesting. He is 11 and a very tall grey.

I will give an update once the vet calls me tomorrow.

Thank you in advance for thinking of us.

Ditto MaryJane's question. We normally don't anaesthetize here, altho if he is a squirm I suppose they might have to. Maybe just some valium to zone him out a bit would be a good middle ground?

Sending prayers for your boy.

Sending good thoughts. Mine have never been put under for x-rays. Patsie is a wiggler and she was given a mild sedative to calm her down when she needed x-rays of her spine, and all four legs and hips.

Good thoughts to Jake :hope

I took Outlaw in for x-rays a few weeks back and they were able to get x-rays without sedation. They even had him on the table on his back to view his spine from the underside... I would definitely ask about the reason for the anesthesia...

Outlaw is 11 as well, I know what you are going thru :(

Jake has to have full testing of hips and legs and is terrified to be in the vet. He will freak when I even take him there and will really freak (to the point of hurting himself) when I leave. My vet is a sweetie and knows Jake well. The vet and I have discussed everything.

Thank you for all the good thoughts.
