Another Osa Case?

Recommended Posts

I wrote just a little in the Introductions section about our Greyhound, Jamey, that he might have OSA. I had sent Jamey's X-rays on to Dr. Couto. I just received an email reply to the X-rays I sent to Dr. Couto's group. It reads:

"Unfortunately there is a osteolytic lesion (bulge or bubble shape) in Jamey's humerus. The lesion could be compatible with malignancy and probably OSA. I would suggest to perform a guided (ultrasound) Fine Needle Aspirate of the lesion and observe the cytology in order to achieve a final diagnosis."

So it is not a final diagnosis yet, but it is looking like Jamey might have osteo. Please continue to pray hard that it is something else.

I've phoned Jamey's vet, and am waiting to hear back from them re: the fine needle aspirate.

I am so sorry :( It's all to fresh in my mind when my Matty girl was diagnosed, and it's a horrible feeling. We're thinking of you and your Jamey.

WE ARE sooo sorry, too. I DEFINITELY WOULD do what Dr. Couto recommends, though.

Curfew has a brain tumor, and my vet, and my former vet/employer/friend, wanted to do some testing on him for Cushings Disease ... Dr. Couto said, "he wouldn't do it!" THAT was all I needed to hear! It was NOT done!

I would show your vet the email from OSU and Dr. Couto, and go from there.

We are all praying for you here! Love, Dee, Curfew, Goldie, Oakly, Staggerlee, and Cari. Bob, (deceased husband), Bold Energy, Dasher and Max, at The Bridge. :candle
