Guest BlackandBrindle
Clementine is a cutie My first thought was an infection or some such, but I have no firsthand experience so it's only a guess. Glad that you get to go in with her to the vet this afternoon. Be sure to let us know how it goes

Guest greydogluvr
We are back. It turned out that she has an infection in her gums. She was administered a Prednisone injection and Furosemide injection for the edema. He prescribed antibiotics and oral clean to swab her gums 2x/day. We scheduled a dental for Tuesday if the swelling has subsided. Otherwise I will take her back on Thursday, July 24 for a recheck and reschedule the dental for a later date. She has receding gums that encourage infection. This will be her 3rd dental in less that 12 months. I guess she just has bad teeth. Thank you to everyone for checking in on her and for your positive thoughts. I was convinced it was something horrible. What a relief. 5blackgreys
Wonderful news!!!! I'm so glad it's something that is easily treated and hopefully her dental will keep her infection free for a while. Guest Vinnie
It's so nice that we are finally getting some good news in this topic - so much of it has been scary lately. Hope the swelling and infection go away quickly. Has the vet suggested anything that would help slow down the receding gums and/or keep away infection? Our siamese has some issues with his gums and they have us putting some kind of film over his teeth & gums to help along with brushing teeth/gums very lightly. Just a thought. Guest greydogluvr
He gave Oral Clean to swab on her gums two times per day. It sort of bubbles on contact. I would like to know what you are using. Is it a liquid or an actual film like strip you put on his gums? How often do you use it? How oten do you massage the gums?
