Guest RavenRacersMom Posted April 30, 2008 Share Posted April 30, 2008 My dear princess Raven Racer. She was a small greyhound that could not keep up with the big boys in the racing world. She raced into our hearts and there she will forever be. I always said that Raven raced for fun, not to win. (It shows in her poor race times She cheated death two years ago when almost everybody gave up on her when it was thought she had a stroke. She has cheated death more than once I am sure. Her fur was soft as a bunny and she never let me out of her sight. I was her protection, her mama, but I could not help her this time. It breaks my heart. I wish I could do more. Please forgive me my little girl. Raven won the dreamiest eyes contest in 2006. She truly had eyes like a little doe. I will miss looking into those eyes. She loved to tear paper. She would tear paper and it would get blamed on the other dogs, but I know who did it. She even ate my Coach keychain!!! (the girl has taste!) We always had a little ritual before we would go for walks and it is something that I will never forget. "Ha ke kaw...ka ko kee ko ka" -- That is for you my little girl... I still hear her coming and going through the dog door. She would peek in, pull back, like 5 times before tearing in the door to come in or go out. Her toenails would click when she would walk, that is how I knew she was near. She was such a quiet girl. I will forever miss the surprise visits I would get upstairs when she would come up to see us. Raven Racer, my little GRRR, I will miss you forever. You are my princess...please forgive me and do not hate me. I will never forget you. I am so lucky I had you for the time that I did. It was truly a blessing to have you in my life. We were so lucky.
