RobinM
We have a very high bed, 32 inches off the floor. Everyone but Teddy goes on and off regularly. Teddy doesn't- he doesn't jump. I try to make a point of picking Polli up and putting her on and taking her off, but sometimes (a lot of the time) she beats me to it and does it herself. About 2 weeks ago, I made a mental note that it seemed like she was "surverying" the height of the bed before she jumped rather than just effortlessy jumping. I also remembered that the reason she stopped breeding was due to a "dropped muscle" as per her ex-owner. We bought the ORVIS stairs which are sitting next to my bed, and the cats think it's neat. We wil lhave to work on that one when we have some time. 2 days ago, Polli's gait in the rear seemed off and today she is limping, somewhat dragging her right back leg. NOT REAALY DRAGGING. It's somewhere between a drag and a limp. I don't know if she pulled something from the jumping, the "pulled muscle" is acting up or G-D forbid something more serious. I will give it a few days and if not improved, I will bring her in for x-rays ( and a dental!!!) Please keep Polli in your thoughts. She is my very, special lady and I just love her to pieces. vjgrey
If it's a pulled muscle, Traumeel gel may help. It helped a lot with Diamond's sore neck (plus, she LOVED the twice daily massages). Lots of good thoughts for your pretty girl. RobinM
No change- no walkies today and probably throughout the weekend. She looks so sad when the others are going so I try to distract her! DH gave her a Trameel massage this morning, I will giver her one later today. She is in great spirits, had a stuffy in her mouth with tushy in the air ( LOVE IT!) and is happy, talkative (translation ROO ROO ROO ROO) and just... Polli. Hoping this passes quickly. ShantisMom
We will think good thoughts for Polli. Kona tore a ligament in her "knee" on a back leg jumping out of our SUV once. She did fine for many more years. We will hope for limp free in couple days. Quote The Girls
Fiona3
Last summer Fiona pulled a muscle in her back right leg and had similar symptoms. We feared it was the cruciate ligament but after a few weeks of leash walking in the yard rather than running freely and no daily walks with the others (she really had a sour face on when this happened, poor baby) she seemed to heal. We had even scheduled X-rays and evaluation on the leg at our vets. Obviously we were very fortunate - I was not looking forward to her having the surgery. Hope Polli's discomfort is just something easy to heal and she's back to her old self soon. CaliforniaGreys
I know that you already know about the Traumeel, those massages will really help. When it's time for walks and one has to stay behind, it's tough. Guilt....lousy feeling. I sure hope she feels better soon Quote Missing my little Misty who took a huge piece of my heart with her on 5/2/09, and Ekko, on 6/28/12 For the sick, the lost, and the homeless
MerlinsMum
Oh Robin - I hope it's nothing! I know how it feels so see that limp and worry. Merlin was limping pretty badly recently. Turns out if was just a pulled muscle. Hope the same thing happened to Polli!...
