Thinking good thoughts for Shanti. We will be hoping for an easy treatment for her tomorrow. Take it easy, goofy girl!

I had to leave her with the vet for a few hours more for monitoring. :( I am suppose to pick her up at 5pm.

I was surprised she went in happily and off with them happily. After our visit and torture we put her through 2 weeks ago I would not have thought that.

I am seeing a lot of improvement on her, so my glimmer of hope that we are getting to the bottom of some of this is getting bigger. :)

She is home! She loves the vet techs and vet...not so much me! She "hates" me at the moment. Give her a few days and some more Burpdogs. I will win her back, or she will forget. ;) She did very well! They still laugh at the drama that girl gives them!

As for her joint issues, now that we have treated the Babesia and run a million other tests and talked to specialist. She is being diagnosed with infectious arthritis. Since the antibiotics made a huge difference, we will treat for 8 weeks. If this does not fix it, then we go back to the auto immune thought path. We don't have to go back until February!!! Both of us are happy for that!

Thanks for all the good thoughts! We are hoping 2008 starts off in the right direction. ;)

Well, I am 80% forgiven. :P At about 11:30 last night she came and laid next to me and put her head in my lap. Not bad, 7 hours versus 2 days last time. She is still not eating much, but this happened last time. I expect her to eat a full dinner tonight. If not, then I will start to worry. She will eat Burpdogs! Diane, I don't know what you put in those, but they are magical!

Thanks for all the good thoughts! I think the worst for her is now over. YEAH!

Well, she is hoping around today on 3 legs. :( But I think that is because yesterday she was a ball of fire! I have not seen her that perky in the time I have had her (2 years). So I am guessing she is feeling better!!! But, I think she over did it on her leg. It is also due to poor rain today, so the barometer may be affecting her too. So she got a little more pain medicine today. She is now asleep. :P She is not eating as much as I would like. I am pretty sure that is the antibiotics. I am going to see about carafate (sp) to help with that. The antibiotics are working wonders, so I don't want to stop. We have 8 weeks of them. Silly me for thinking it would go easily!!! I have to be out of town next week, so DH will have Shanti (and kid) duty. I don't want her feeling yucky while I am gone.

She has forgiven me!!! It only took half as long this time. :P

Thanks for checking in on her.

I would check with the vet about giving both carafate and Pepcid for her tummy.

Hope she is feeling better tomorrow. Have you tried cooking for her? Maybe some baked chicken, boiled hamburger, lean pot roast, eggs, etc.

Not yet. I am planning on some rice and chicken tonight for her. I tossed a little cheese in this morning. It helped a tiny bit. She ate about 1/3. Then I forgot to remove it and got in the shower. I came back and it was all gone. I am guessing that was Nala.

I wondered on pepcid. I have that here. Maybe I can try that before dinner. What is the dose on that? Just Pepcid AC right?

I have sick kids, and no back up since DH is gone. If I can hold off on the vet run for medicine until Saturday that would be better. If not, we will find a way.
