Just got back from an "emergency" trip to the vets. Wasn't a true emergency, but I think Munchie had some sort of seizure, so I wanted her checked while the hospital was still open. Vet is not sure what it was either, I brought home some valium in case she does something during the night. Good news is that her urine looks much better.

Munchie and I thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. She continues to be about the same. Its just like the spark has gone out of her. I hope her Christmas presents will cheer her up tomorrow.

She still is up most of the night, I'm getting pretty used to no sleep, but it doesn't matter, I am off until Thursday, and the hounds LOVE afternoon nap time!

Yesterday, my husband said "no more". I am really surprised he would say that, she is his heart dog, big time. He said she has been through enough, he said we are not going to go any further with her. I really don't know what we can do further (diagnostic work-up wise) anyways. My good vet is off until New Year's Eve, we'll see what she says when we all get back to work.

We're not giving up at this point by any means. She will continue on her meds and maybe add azathioprine next week. He just means no more 4 hour trips to specialists, no more joint taps, no more high dose pred etc. Nothing is working, so we will continue to pray that the answer comes to us somehow.

Frustration at its finest! Oh how I wish you had answers!!! We are keeping you guys in our thoughts and prayers.

I do want to say thank you for posting all the information you have. It has helped me tremendously with Shanti. I made sure the vet did the whole culture and sensitivity stuff with the joint taps. I only want to do this once. I think we ran about every test we could. :)

Please keep us posted on Munchie. I hope she perks up for you. Give her hugs and kisses from us.

Did Munchie perk up with her Christmas present?????

No, she wasn't interested in her toys. :( She did get a big rawhide bone that she chewed most of the day, but other than that, she is very lethargic. Not sure if I can take her to work tomorrow or not, the kennels are FULL for the holidays, so she may have to wait until next week.
