Budda Bear

About two months ago a greyhound friend told me about a senior greyhound that was in need of a home. Due to no fault of his own, Bear was going to have to leave his home where he'd been for two years. After hearing the circumstances surrounding his need for a new home I decided to get a few more details. Bear weighed on my heart until I finally agreed to take him. Of course he was a little anxious the first week or so but then one day he seemed to accept that he was here to stay and HOLY COW!!! His personality just busted out and the next thing I knew I was getting the greeting of a life time when I'd come home from work. Bear was a very tall boy and had these wonderful long legs. However, his greeting usually resulted in me getting stepped on, stomped on, play bowed in the chest! LOL!!! Big goofy boy just didn't know what to do with those long legs of his! I quickly fell in love with this boy and he quickly became my velcro dog. Privacy in the bathroom? HA! I think not! :lol

Last Wednesday within about 5 minutes of me arriving home from work Bear died on my back deck. I feel certain it was a heart attack as it happened so quickly. My heart was broken to pieces.

Missing my Budda Bear so much....

I'm sorry you didn't have longer to enjoy each other's company.

Bless you for taking him in and cherishing his silliness.

Thank you ALL so much for your sweet words and expressions of sympathy. I have found that so few people in my "real world" do not comprehend the loss of a pet! To them it's "just a dog". I'm sure you've all encountered people like this on more than one occasion. There's no way that you can make someone see just what this four legged BLESSING has meant in your life!

Thank you again everyone for your loving words. I really, really appreciate it.

Greyhound hugs to everyone..... :grouphug

Oh, Angie, what a shame you didn't have more time with your big, sweet boy! It just seems too hard to comprehend when they go suddenly (when I lost my Angel Nick 3 weeks ago, he was only sick for 2 days), and you feel cheated. Though the pain is too great right now, I think in time, you will find comfort in knowing that he was happy and safe and loved till the very last second. He was blessed to have found someone who loved him and appreciated him and understood him so well. When you picture him jumping up on those long legs, filled with the joy of simply being with you, those memories will keep him alive within your heart.
