  1. I hope Valor feels better soon. I haven't had a dog with vestibular problems yet, but one of the kitties--just three at the time--had idiopathic vestibular disease. She had to be kept in a dog crate so she wouldn't climb something and fall. After about a month, she was doing fairly well, and then she had another bout (different symptoms). She's on a low dose of prednisone, and it seems to keep her symptoms under control. Without it, one eye doesn't work too well and her head tilts.
  2. I'm sorry. I hope Jazz has a lot of good time left with you.

  6. Probably not a bite at this time of year, so I'm guessing a bump. Energy11 has already given you better advice about that than I can muster.

Oh Holly, I am so very sorry. I was so hoping you could have more time with him. He was much too young and he left much too quickly. Godspeed Tanner.

  15. I second the advice not to interfere. I managed to stop Minnie when she caught a squirrel. When Minnie let go, the poor thing dragged itself down to the bottom of the yard. I think its back was broken. Had to call Animal Control to come and get it. Even though they showed up very quickly, the squirrel had to suffer much longer than it would have if I'd just let Minnie finish the job.
  16. OUCH! I hope you heal quickly and well. I'm relieved that you were able to catch Sheba.
  17. You're doing the right things. You do need to be sure the parasites are gone, and you do need to put him back on the bland diet until you find something that works for him--or you can keep him there and add supplements. As mcsheltie said, the longer his system is out of whack, the longer it will take to recover. And, if I were you, I'd definitely be looking for another vet clinic. It's not unusual for different vets to have different opinions--even when they practice together--but they're not responding to you or communicating with each other, and that's not right.
  18. I'm glad he's feeling better. that he continues to improve.
