Kim, who do you take Larry to for Chiropractic treatments?

sorry, just saw this now (over a year later!) -- he goes to IVRSM in Hanover Park and sees Dr. Starr:  https://www.integrativeveterinaryrehabilitationsportsmedicine.com/

Larry's been so bad now the past 3 weeks that I broke down and bought the Assisi Loop today at our monthly treatment :(  it's now $289 (plus tax) and I pray it will work.  Using it around his neck (like a collar) will be easy, but I'm going to have to rig one of his light fabric jackets with some loops of some kind to hold it in place on his back area.  He's always SO hot all the time and pants all the time, having even a light (very light) coat on him will probably make him melt....

  2. GPA Wisconsin had a dog that lost it's life due to finding mints in his owners purse that had xylitol in them :(  another friend had theirs get into something with it but knew it right away and shoved a crapload of sugar into their pup (xylitol causes the blood sugar in dogs to drop drastically, very quickly).  The dog survived because of his actions.

    terrible stuff :(

  3. I am so very, veryy sorry :(:( what a wonderful tribute to such a much-loved pup.  She certainly was one in a million.

sending many, many hugs to you both.  :(:grouphug :cry1 :cry1 :grouphug

  4. our Rainey did that after she began having seizures at age 10.  She would act like she'd never seen the room she was in, the backyard, etc.  Sniffing, moving her head rapidly, walking in circles.  We suspected a brain tumor (causing the seizures) but it was not found on an MRI done 10/4/10 (her 10th bday) and we let her go the day before she was supposed have her second, knowing even if they found something she needed to be released from all that was going on with her.

This could just be the beginning of dementia and not a tumor, probably more likely - just mentioning that Rainey did the same thing.  I know there are meds now to help with dementia, perhaps talk to your vet?

hugs.  It's very hard to watch them like this :(

Saying goodbye to the beautiful greyhounds and their friends who left us in June 2019. As you run with the wind send a caress to wipe our tears.

Gone but never forgotten. Loved forever. Run free with those who have gone before you. Greet all those that will follow.

    the Jupiter, FL female greyhound

They'll always be with us, just slightly beyond the point that we can see with our eyes. In our heart, though, they'll be bright and clear, as they always were.

    don't we even know what the poor girl's name was :( :cry1 :cry1  :cry1

I realize it had been  a long time since forever grey posted this initial post.  Did you find a solution to your greys problem ? Our four year old is having similar symptoms.

our Zeke has been having the exact same issues as the original poster -- neck issue and he would yelp when his nose was touched, like if he went to rub on the side of the bed or one time when Bruce just went to pet him.  He's been on 300mg Gabapentin 3 x day for the last couple months.  Hope your pup feels better.  I don't know why the nose would cause pain other than I think the neck pain hurt when he moved his head downward, and that's what happened when he cried out from the nose.  Weird.
