  1. We had the problem with licking with Penny when we first got her. I went to Target and got a pair of tights made for toddlers, cut the legs off and put them on Penny's legs. It seemed to reduce the licking when she had to lick cloth instead of her skin. Good luck with sweet Grandpa!
  2. What about using an old knee high stocking or cut up pantyhose over it? They are sheer enough that the air could get to the wound but he wouldn't be able to lick through them.
  3. I feel better and better about Darcy's prognosis whenever one of her pics makes me laugh out loud (as the "windy hair" pic did).
  4. Our Bell was on Tramadol after her tail amp. She did very well and it healed beautifully within a couple of weeks, and she was 11 when she had her surgery.
  5. That little face just about broke my heart. I know if anyone can make him better, it is GALT. I still think of the miracle of Old Fella and hope there is a little of that miracle to spare for Brody.
  6. We all have our fingers and paws crossed here for a Sally-Rally!
  7. So many of my favorite GT hounds have been struck by this awful disease lately-- and Peatie is definitely one of my favorites. Hugs to all of you.
  8. Oh no! It seems like she is so very young for this! I am sending all my good wishes to you, Darcy, Mark, and the rest of your pack.
  9. I am so sorry Jennifer. Scooter was such a sweet and gentle soul. My heart is breaking for you.
  10. OMG, I am just sick over this. Hugs to you and the gentle Scooterman. If you need anything please just ask.
  11. I am so sorry. I always loved your pictures and videos of sweet Sassy.
  12. I know this feeling exactly having a 9.5 year old and a 13 year old in the house. My 13-y.o. Bell has been having some tummy issues lately which have really made me think about what I will do when she passes. She is a survivor though, and the vet says aside from some arthritis and tooth tartar she is in great health. Sometimes she stumbles on the stairs and she jogs more than she runs, but she eats like a horse and loves life. Lucky (???) for me the "youngster" Penny still thinks she is two and acts like it!! I am so grateful to have the hounds I have in such good health, though I know inside it can't last, I just enjoy them everyday. Hugs to you and your senior pack, Devon!
  13. I am so so sorry to hear about sweet Lilah's passing. I remember a pic you posted of her looking like a kangaroo and how it made me laugh. Thank you for sharing your girl and your story.
  14. From one Penny-mom to another, I am sending all my best thoughts and healing to your Penny girl.
  15. I love Sprout! If he can survive living with Duffy and Darcy and Ella, surgery should be no problem for him! Best wishes to Sprout.
  16. I sent my donation via paypal but forgot to add my username-- I am sorry! I sent a PM with my email address so you can match the donation to my username. Good luck!
  17. Lidia and Mike, I sent you a PM. Mustang was lucky to be loved by so many. Tonight I will tell Bell that her sister is gone but that she is safe and warm and well fed and happy.
  18. I am so sorry to hear about Bluebird. Give Mustang extra scritches from me and a gentle lick from Bell for the loss of her friend. Congratulations on Surf! Bluebird certainly had wonderful taste!
  19. Hopefully I will not get bashed for posting this, but I give our Bell (12 year old) a buffered aspirin & a Pepcid whenever she is having a rough day with her arthritis (both with food). It seems to work very well for her and we have never had a problem with vomiting or Big D. She loves to run and go for walks so she gets this whenever she "overdoes it." She is also on Fresh Factors and Joint Health formula from Springtime Inc. The one time she had Rimadyl after a dental she was violently ill.
  20. My match does not have a username-- is there any way I can find out what my person's username is so I can tease them? My match does not have a username-- is there any way I can find out what my person's username is so I can tease them?
  21. My Penny is 8 and thinks she is three. Miss Bell is 12, and at 11 survived Hurricane Katrina, two weeks alone (except for her fur-siblings) after the hurricane before being rescued by the ASPCA, a GUR from New Orleans to Pittsburgh, and her first Pittsburgh winter. She loves to chase Penny, play with stuffies, and eat. She is a tough old broad in great health. She has a little tremor in her back end when she squats to pee but is doing great on Glucosamine and Fresh Factors. I hope they both live many more happy healthy years.
  22. Do we need to start a GT telethon?? Perhaps we can recruit Jerry Lewis-- or Jennifer and Judy can use their "in" with Johnny Depp?? Seriously, if it would help, we could start a donation drive, with any leftover going to the hounds. We GTers are addicts!
