Sending my sympathy I do know how you feel -- it really hurts.
  7. Sending my sympathy How I love the old ones -- for no matter how much time.
  8. What a beautiful girl! Sending my sympathy
  9. Isaac is on Keen and gets 1c dry hydrated with 1 1/2c water twice a day, and also around 1/2 kibble for his "snack". He has great poop on the Keen. He still has allergies and I think it's outside -- trees and grass. Gets better when it's cold.
  10. Sending my sympathy I remember her coming home.....
  11. Don't walk long in the hot summers. There have been several greys lost to heat stroke taking their morning walk. You could do short, let's potty walks and that is it! I am fortunate in that my guys love the heat, hate the cold. I brought out the sweaters for the last few days, otherwise, they stay in the closet (the sweaters, not the dogs) This is the first year Huston willing stood and let me put a sweater on him--other years I've had to chase him 75-78 in the house with ceiling fans is comfortable for them. A/C is a must, both in the car & house for all concerned.
  12. Sending lots of good wishes. Have you told him yet no more biscuits?
  13. Still?????? They can lay dormant for 5-7 years. Worth around $62 to get a full panel at Protatek. Sending prayers! forgot to add: I've had seniors with high protein and if the ratios are ok, we ignore it.
  14. An NSAID will not fix a problem, only mask it. Do you have an alternative vet close?-- just looked at where you are and there are some close to you. Is he on supplements?
  15. Obviously he doesn't know the effects of thyroid meds. I'd start with a thyroid panel from Michigan State. I have the forms and directions for overnighting if you want. What exactly are his blood values? Were they done in house or sent out? Do you have an alternative vet close? You can email me if you want
  16. Maybe the ones I am thinking of are the proteus. I'm thinking of Chickie that Marilyn had (I think it was her). Took forever to get her infection gone. I use a PUR filter that attaches to the faucet. Don't know about tap water but I do know one of my vets does the same thing and came to the same conclusion. I think if you have well water, assuming the water has been tested and is good well water, you would not need to filter.
  17. Are you using filtered water? Burp had the worst recurring infections. We finally got rid of them with 21 days of baytril and I switched to filtered water. No more UTIs. There seems to be a lot of e coli infections and they are tough to clear up!
  18. Is she on stomach meds? Sending prayers.
