  10. I did some research on SLO when DesiRay was having his nail problems, and from what I understand, it's an immune issue; the body thinks it's allergic to its own nail material. Also understood that it ran in cycles; better for a while, then worse for a while. There are several treatment options; just search SLO/greyhounds & you'll find out more about this than you probably ever wanted to know. Good Luck!!
  11. SENIORS ROCK!!!! She'll feel much better in the long run. Hope all goes well. Let us know.
  12. Range for Tramadol is 2-5mg/kg every 8 - 12 hours. So for her weight, 150 mg per dose is at the high end. I agree, that seems like a lot just for arthritis. When DesiRay (85 lb) was having his nail problems, he did ok on 100 mg, every 12 hours. It never phased him with side effects, but I had a 60 lb (non-grey) a few years ago with horrible hips; she took 50 mg twice a day. Toward the end, I tried to kick the dose up some, but it really knocked her for a loop. She couldn't even get up, just wanted to lay & sleep; when she did get up, seemed "out of it." Good luck. Hope she's feeling better.
  13. Well, this old dog just learned a new trick. DesiRay has occasional splatters from trash picking (all because Mama forgot to put up the baby gate) and it's a bummer trying to hurry him past neighbors yards to someplace that doesn't matter about splatter. 1/4 sheet of newspaper would be buried beyond recognition, but the paper plate sounds doable. I'm going to add that to my arsenal of things I drag along on a walk. Thanks!!!!
  14. I'm almost embarrased to say I'm a poo watcher too. It seems to me (in this house anyway) it's the first indicator of something wrong somewhere.
  15. YEA DEENIE!!! Hope today just gets better. Thinking of you & praying for a swift recovery.
  16. Aw, poor baby. Calls for lots of extra TLC, I'm sure. Hope it's all better soon.
  17. So glad things are better. Hope they continue to improve.
