  1. Sending prayers for Yoko and for her entire family.
  2. I don't know what to say, except she didn't suffer, and she died doing what she loved to do. I'm so sorry for your loss.
  3. I am so sorry for ALL your losses. Your girl is with you, watching over you. She will always be there, watching over you.

    Baby Boy

I am so sorry. I had really hoped he would make it.
  5. Did the vet do blood work and check her urine to see how well her kidneys are working? Some of what you describe - not eating, drinking and urinating more - sound like it could be because of a kidney problem. My Greyhound with kidney failure used to flip her dish and food over, but not eat the food. There's a lot you can do to support a dog with kidney failure.
  6. Pat, I am so sorry for your loss. As others have said, he pain free now, and running with his friends that had gone before him. They're all waiting for you to rejoin them some day.
  7. I know how much you love this small white dog and how much love you have given him. It's not how long sometimes, but how well loved. My heart is breaking for you, as I'm trying to type through my tears.
  8. So glad to hear your good update! Keep up the good work, Manny.
  9. I've been looking for an update on Nina, too. Let us know how she's doing.
  10. Doesn't come in a 3 mg pill. Maybe 0.3 mg. I wander if she was thinking of something else with a similar sounding name. Typical doses for L-Thyroxine range from 0.075 to 0.2 mg.(0.2 is a large dose.)
  11. If you refer to it as Soloxine, they won't know it. Soloxine is the veterinary name for L-Thyroxine,which is generic for Synthroid. Synthroid is synthetic human T-4 (synthesized to be identical to that component of what the human thyroid makes.) It has largely replaced the old animal thyroid extracts. I wonder if some day some enterprising pharmaceutical company will come up with a synthetic canine thyroid replacement, instead of just using the human hormone.
  12. Please do take her to the vet in the morning, and let us know how she is. And don't beat yourself up about it.
  13. Sending lots of gentle hugs to you and Manny. What a strong boy he is!
  14. I don't think the human dose goes that high. Inter-species difference. I think the largest available may be .3 mg, which is a huge dose for a person, but not much for a dog.
  15. I don't find this funny at all, and anyone who does, has a real problem @SeeBudsHome- Thank you. I expected silly replies but it is so very nice to receive support. Much love, Gigi & BooBoo Telepathic communication So do you put the phone up to the dog's head????? I totally get the in-person animal communication but a bit confused how they can pick up vibes/communicate with them over the phone. Since it is telepathic communication they do not always need to be in the dog's presence. Some do, some don't I think most want a picture of the dog, one where they can see the dog's eyes. if they're doing it over the phone. Easy enough to email.
  16. You go, Whitey. Make your Mom proud.
  17. If you're going to brush, I think it's better to brush, then apply the gel. That way the gel stays on their teeth overnight to loosen more plaque, which you get the next day when you brush.
  18. Decades ago, and way pre-Greyhound, and had that kind of situation. Kids screaming and fighting, and dogs, who had previously been thoroughly house broken, peeing and pooping all over the house. One daughter left for school, no more fighting kids, and NO MORE peeing or pooping in the house.
  19. I know I spent more on a 5 year old than I've spent on all my seniors put together. (At least so far.)
  20. It's not fair, and I hope it's not true. Remember, whatever happens, you gave your boy a lot of greyt quality extra time and love.
  21. Sending good thoughts for a good night's rest. Will check in in the morning.
  22. Don't know about Meijer, but both Walmart and Sam's Club fill human med prescriptions for dogs. (You don't need to be a member at Sam's Club.) Your vet can either give you a written prescription or call one in. That's how I do all of mine, and it saves me a ton of money.
