  1. Oh, Adrienne, my heart is breaking for you. You did everything you could, and more, for Wilbur . Godspeed sweet boy. for you Adrienne.
  2. Happy day after your birthday, sweetie! Keep up the good work
  3. Terrific news, Robin. Such a relief when the mystery pains can be helped by some rx, and mama's TLC !
  4. I can't see what I'm typing (again), argh. But, Zeke-aroni has been dealing with a weird pain causing issue lately, He is getting Tramadol and Deramaxx, which are doing a terrific job of keeping the pain at bay. He would wake up cryiing, out of a sound sleep, with no obvious area of concern. Xrays, nl. Labs, all nl. Our (wonderful) vet is thinking that he could have some trauma to the nerve tendon sheaths under his left forearm. We would have to do an MRI to rule out a tumor. We are going with the plan for now of keeping him medicated, and with another good week behind him attempting to lower the dosage of rx. I hope you can get an answer to what is troubling Elsie, poor girlie. Thinking of you guys.
  5. That was a terrible winter. As I was searching for another lost girlie, I prayed for you to be found safely. We haven't forgotten you, Elwood, run free sweet boy.
  6. My heart is breaking for you, MP. What a beautiful tribute to your best friend. Once, when I was in loss-crisis, a friend told me that missing someone is a way of keeping them with us even when they are not. I hope you can find some comfort in that. Hugs,
  7. Buttered toast. That's a special girlie. I am so sorry for your loss. And, what the others said, thank you for opening your heart and home to a senior, Casey sure won the lottery on that one. Old dogs are the best dogs. Sending you
  8. There are excellent suggestions in this post. Something for sure is bothering Molly. If you go the harness route, those from 2HoundsDesign are *excellent* and you can attach the training leash to both the martingale connection on the harness, and clip the other end to Molly's martingale collar, so you have control of both her head/neck and her body. If she is stopping in exactly the same spot every time, that spot warrants a major sleuthing to try and figure out what is so "scary"
  9. This poor girlie. And you. Another hound is absolutely an experiment to try. Surely one of the groups, even an hour away, will be sympathetic to your situation and I would think that with the growing numbers of dogs needing homes that they would be happy to work with you on fostering. If a gh group is not responsive, gulp, would a local shelter be out of the question? Is there a neighbor with a dog that Lexi could get friendly with? My Zeke-aroni is a thunderphobe, and when I rescued him last year (age 9), his previous owner's notes said that he was to have two Benadryl during storms. In a year's time, he has improved so much: rarely does he get Benadryl, he has a safe place to go if the storm is *terrible* (tub in the bathroom, which we layer with towels when we know ahead of time), occasionally a body wrap, and the company of other, secure hounds. We, too, did the radio/TV scene for years until we found this CD: ZenDog: Music & Massage for a Stress-Free Pet by Janet Marlow. I leave it on softly all day, it's like natural valium. Notes that are heard by hounds differently than us. All I can tell you is that it has been very good for these campers. Best of luck with Lexi. I'm so sorry for the pain she (and you) are experiencing. Please don't give up on her, you love her so much. Hugs,
  10. I am so so sorry for you and Ace. Thank you for doing everything that you could for this boy. Hugs to you.
  11. It sounds as tho Ace *wants* to eat but forwhatever rason he is not able to and now has become discouraged. Can the vet see him??
  12. You will worry until the moment you get James home. But better to get that tooth taken care of before he becomes really uncomfortable and avoid having to deal with escalated issues later on. I fretted Pal's dental on Monday, and he did beautifully. He is 11.3. Best of luck and lots of prayers coming your way.
  13. Good girlie. And, happy birthday, sweetie!! (we were handed our teeth in baggies....)
  14. Jan and Dave, I'm so sorry for your loss. So glad that you stayed home from work to spend special time with your girlie. Godspeed, Bailey.
  15. They'll be in good hands, Tracey, no worries there. They are gorgeous boys!
  16. Good luck, let us know how it goes. Zeke-aroni arrived here minus an upper canine that had been pulled after he caught it on a fence (?). I had both Zeke-aroni and LadyBug go in for their dentals (between them, 19 teeth were removed) and Zeke-aroni's other upper canine was pulled. (See pic on greyhoundgang.org contest.) He did fine, both with the proc and follow-up, although there was a quite large hole for a while. I'm thinking of making a necklace ...

    My Boy T

I am so sorry for your loss.
  18. These allergies are making my eyes leak terribly. What a wonderful tribute to Lambie Pie. That must be her star shining even brighter when she hears you...
  19. With time, the sad and painful memories dim, and the happy, sweet, funny times are what you will recall. She was beautiful. And smart. Fly free, Cora-Bird.
  20. I am so sorry. You gave back the greytest gift to Suzy, unselfishly setting her free from her pain. Hugs to you and your family.
