    Gable Get Rhythm

    How awful. I'm so sorry.
  2. I think it's been a while since the link to Greyhound Medical Idiocyncracies has been posted. I highly recommend that everyone save this publication, or save the link with your favourite websites.
  3. I don't know much about that stuff, but here is a link to a great publication called Greyhound Medical Idiocyncracies. It's a good reference.
  4. I'm so sorry for your loss of your very handsome guy
  5. Oh Jenn, I'm so very sorry.
  6. I hope she feels better, soon. Thanks for the update.
  7. Oh no, another loss for you I'm so very sorry.
  8. Of course people with galgos join. I'm brining one home from Spain in April! There are others on this board with galgos, also. Anybody can join, with or without pets.
  9. It isn't about a hypothetical point in the future. It's about expecting someone who claims to be committed to animals generally and who committed to this hound, specifically, to live up to that commitment. Things things happen. I know this is cliche, but it's hard to judge unless you've walked in the other person's shoes. Vets are people, too, and face the same frustrations as the rest of us.
  10. Would you give up your dog for eight busy weeks? That's nothing!
  11. I know how frustrating it can be to deal with a dog that doesn't meet expectations in one way or another. I can understand how necessary it is to rant sometimes. I just never had the courage to do it on Gt
  12. I'm so sorry for your loss. What a special guy he was!
  13. I agree with using treats to bipuild closeness and to help with training. Also, try to relax when you're aroun him. I could see how it would be frustrating to be around a dog that doesn't seem to get it, but greyhounds are really sensitive and can pick up on negativity. I also agree with the suggestion to talk to your adoption group. ETA: some of the behaviour you're describing seems a,lot like my Phoenix before he was diagnosed with babesia, especially the depression. Has he been tested for TBDs?

    Missing Frank...

I'm sorry, Robbie. We all miss Frank
  15. My parents, who used to breed show dogs and have had dogs for years, are very happy with the vet at PetSmart on Cherry Hill in Silver Spring. I took the there once, and he seemed very through, knowledgable and my parents' dog loved him.
  16. I think it depends on the dog. My second one was a huge amount of extra work. After she passed away, I got another to keep Phene company and she was no extra work at all.
  17. How terribly sad. I'm so sorry
  18. I'm so sorry for the loss of your girl. Her pictures made me smile
