He's only been home for q couple of days. Give him a little bit of time to get used to his new surroundings and people. Be generous with the treats, just like you've been doing. Do you think it would be easier to get him outside if you put him in a harness? Sometimes Iker doesn't like going for walks, either, but I don't give him the option on staying inside. I just go so he has no choice but to follow me out the door. He sounds wonderful and it seems like he's happy. He even plays with toys and you and your husband! Relax and he'll be fine. Of course you know this already

this is the first time that i've revisited this thread since my post. the foster mom couldn't have been responsible for taking a dog with no prey drive and making it into a dog with a high prey drive. not only do i believe that it can't be done, i think that it is unfair to blame the foster mom for the dog's behaviour. keep it up and you'll have difficulty finding anybody to foster dogs for your group. tethering worked for me. try it or don't try it, but do not leave the dog unleashed around the cat.

You've had a tough time of it Tami, I had such a blast when you were here! Do you live near Eagan? I have to go there for work every so often.

Tami! It's WONDERFUL to see you! Love your current dogs but will miss seeing pics of Sunscreen Man, Phene's gf Angel and Festus. How are your kids? They must be pretty grown up by now. Loca passed away three years ago and Phene passed away last year from osteo. Linus the cat passed away four years ago. I now live with Treasure the greyhound, Iker the galgo and Allen the cat.

I know this problem well, as bridge angel Loca was determined to eat my cat. Try tethering him to your waist with a leash whenever you're home. Praise him for ignoring the cat with treats and verbal praise. Keep him separated from the cat when you're not home; tether him to your waist whenever you are there. Be consistent. It took 1.5 months for Loca to ignore the cat and she sas tethwred to me all that time but it was worth it. They became great friends.

It's ok, Kim. My dad actually passed in April but there was a long wait for cremations to go I not Arlingon National Cemetary. I hoping for a good follow up tomorrow

Kim and Brucd, you guys have been in my thoughts non stop and continue to be. If Nube's ends up joining Rainy tomorrow, he will be in good hands as tomorrow is my dad's funeral. He will look after Rainy and Nube.
