  2. What would happen if you put some EMT gel or spray on it? Maybe that would work, also.
  3. I'm so sorry for everything that's happening
  4. It can happen, Melissa. Loca was diagnosed with chrondrosarcoma a few years ago. Turned out the local radiologist misdiagnosed her. She was fine.
  5. What an awful few weeks you've had! I'm so sorry! Please take care of yourself, OK?
  6. The only time Phoenix has ever lifted his left inside was at a PetSmart. It happens.
  7. Or you can adopt from a group like GLOWH or GINA who will help you choose the right dog.
  8. I bet she would love an easy going male like Phoenix. It's hard to go wrong with a dog like him. Loca was 55 lbs. but was the sort of dog who could control an entire playgroup full of dogs with one look. She needed an easy going guy like Phene.
  9. I'm still stuck on the futon due to my broken ankle. Phoenix has been standing about 1.5 feet away from me, barking and whining. He's been doing this all day. I've let him out but he keeps doing it. Phoenix licks a lot and he slurps. He is a constant and vigorous nester and is always moving dog beds around. He even piles them on top of each other. This makes it even more difficult to manoeuvre with crutches. If Treasure on the bed that he wants, he'll look at me and whine until I do something about it. He takes forever to eat and will often spit out food or leave the room during a meal. He's prone to throwing tantrums, including stomping feet and whining. He eats frozen poop, although he seems to be ignoring it so far this year. If anybody so much as touches him while he's asleep or relaxing, he'll jump up with a loud sign and give me the evil eye. Phoenix is very, very strange. Treasure is so sweet, but she's got several habits, also. She seems incapable of learning anything new. In six weeks of obedience school, she learned nothing. She still tries to eat out of any bowl she feel like, and will happily eat Phene's food after she finishes hers. She is the ultimate bed hog. She isn't friendly to anybody during walks. If we stop, she just stands and stares straight ahead. She doesn't seem to have nearly as many idiosyncrasies as Phene does, but she's only been here 1.5 years.
  10. I remember Anubis and he is missed. Thanks for posting this. I know from experience how hard it is to make the right decision. In retrospect, I never felt I let go of of an animal companion too early, instead I think I always waited too long. Energy, you and Goldie and Hope and Tiny are in my thoughts, as are the others who are ailing

    Strider

Oh no! I'm so very sorry for your loss. Strider was a real sweetie
  12. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to laugh I have no advice either, because she sounds exactly like Treasure.
  13. I'm so glad that Elsie is doing better .
  14. I switched from California Natural to Petcurean Go Natural for the same reason you're thinking about switching. I feed Go Natural Chicken, Fruit and Vegetables, which isn't grain free. The dogs love it and their coats are even more beautiful than with California Natural. I fed them Go!, which is the grain free, for about a month while we were out of town and I couldn't find Go Natural. I needed to feed them much more and they pooped much more than they did with Go Natural, but they probably weren't fed it long enough for their systems to make the full transition.

  16. Same thing with Phoenix. I thought he was having trouble walking up the stairs, but it turns out he's losing his vision instead. Why not let her rest up for a day or two, then see how she's doing?
