  1. Great pictures of beautiful dogs! I've spent a lot of time in Galway as my closest friend lives there, and let me tell you...there is no place in the world as cold as Galway in November!! And this is coming from a Canadian

    Missing Smiley

It's hard to believe it's been a year. Smiley is missed by many of us
  3. Hope is a physician. She's had greyhounds and other dogs, both as pets and fosters, for a long time. She's been through this before, most recently two weeks ago with Tiny who was her first greyhound. Please trust her to do what's right.
  4. Don't do it if there's any chance at all that your dog will need to take other drugs. I made the mistake of giving Treasure aspirin a couple of months ago and there were all kinds of consequences. All I gave her was one stupid baby aspirin.
  5. That was a beautiful tribute. I'm so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Tatum. I can see how much she was loved and how much she loved her family.
  6. I would also take her to the vet. I know from experience when Loca broke her toe, that toe injuries can be very tricky. When Loca broke her toe, it took longer to heal than her broken leg several years earlier. Better to be safe.
  7. You both continue to be in my thoughts I'm glad she's home where she belongs. That's probably the best thing for both of you.
  8. Try to get some rest now, OK? He's in good hands.
  9. Of course you both continue to be in my thoughts
  10. I'm not going to disagree that the term "calming signals" may be a little misleading, but the info in the article is good, especially for those of us who may miss the more subtle stuff. Shortly after I adopted my bridge angel, Loca, I took her to a meet and greet. I didn't have the knowledge to read the signals she displayed when a large puppy approached her. If I had known how to read her actions, the encounter may never have gotten to the point where it took five of us to pry her mouth open after she grabbed said puppy by the neck
  11. clicky This is from a great Greyhound eZine, free from the UK
  12. Please Please PLEASE send the xrays to Dr, Couto! A few years ago Loca was in a similar situation, without the break. The vet wasn't sure if it was chondrosarcoma (another form of bone cancer) and the radiologist thought it was. We sent the results to Dr. Couto, they said the radiologist mistook normal lung superimposed over bone for cancer. We took a second set, sent them to OSU, and same thing...cancer free!! If there's any doubt at all, please send the results to OSU. In the meantime, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you're doing the best you can with Dude
  13. Harley and his family are in my thoughts
  14. I sure hope he eats. You're both in my thoughts
