  1. Where did you get the "hot spot spray". Garth has a couple itching spots and I thought it was the weather changing...
  2. Just seeing this. Hoping Anubis keeps progressing - how stressful! Maybe another vet?
  3. Crossing finger, toes and anything else w/some healing prayers!!!
  4. I don't know what to write. I am just so deeply sorry.
  5. Just to understand, Iverheart is a generic of Heartguard so I do not have to mess with "dosages" and other issues - it's a pill and it's safe. I am very concerned about safety (first) and effectiveness (second). My money situation is beyond horrible right now and if this is good then I'll use it if not I'll figure a way to do heart guard and the stupid blood test to get the heartguard. Thanks!
  6. It's time to re-order Garth's heartworm medicine. I saw that Iverheart produces a generic medicine similar to Heartguard (which we get). Does anyone have an opinion on this substitution? I'll email our vet but I trust everyone here.
  7. Garth is very afraid in thunderstorms (and 4th of July). I use the t-shirt combined w/Melatonin. He relaxes but it can take a while. The melatonin makes him much calmer so he can at least relax himself.
  8. I give Garth one tablet of Melatonin. It calms him right down. However, it takes about a half hour to kick in. Ask your vet about the Melatonin. Mine said 1 tablet is fine.
  9. I think you are right about the c.r.a.t.e. when I am gone (rare evenings when I have a dinner or movie event). I agree with this as well. But what is the solution? Perhaps it is taking him out sooner than I would when I am gone. But by this behavior, he is "controlling" our world. By the way he is not spraying - he's really going.
  10. Garth, my love, has this negative behaviour and it is just breaking me. About a year ago I fostered a beautiful big boy for 2 weeks before he went to his new home. Garth started peeing in the house after 3 years of very good behaviour. Well the foster went and no new fosters have come in. Garth continues to pee. It happens in the afternoon and just before the last walk of the night. Today, I was working from home all day, it happened at 4 pm and just now at 9 pm. We went for a 30 minute walk (our 2nd walk today) at 10 am. I was not paying attention and at 4 pm I heard him pee in the house. We went out immediately and I fed him dinner. Well, it's 9 pm and I was watching TV and about to turn off the tv to come upstairs and take him out. Bam - he did it again. I am so mad. This happens almost once or more times per week and it is ruining my floors and making me very very upset. We go for walks all of the time. We spend all of our weekends together if possible. I am home more often now. This just has to stop. Please let me know if you have any suggestions to correct his behavior. Garth routinely goes 7 or 8 hours during the day after I leave for work so there is NO reason he cannot make it between 10 and 4 pm. This is NOT a medical issue it's purely behavioral. Thanks.
  11. I wish you strength and courage to get through these next days. Take care and peace to Bailey. Best wishes.

  16. I am so very sorry for your loss of Bessie. Please know that there are many many people who will hold you in their thoughts and prayers. Take care.
  17. Hugs to both Amber and Soulman. Thanks Kerry for providing the update. Not sure whether to exhale or not. I hope both Amber and Soul get to rest tonight.
  18. I so wish that was an option. He would love the desert. Ok. I will email vet and check with her. I read that several GTers had good luck with it and wanted to get some for next round of storms I'm sure we'll be having. Thank you. Lee Lee used to be very storm-phobic when he came to live when me. Another thing I found that helped him was to put a t-shirt on him. It helps cut down on the static electricity in the air. I do hope you find an answer. It's so hard to see them all worked up like that. I keep forgetting about the t-shirt idea. GREAT POINT - thank you!
  19. Ok. I will email vet and check with her. I read that several GTers had good luck with it and wanted to get some for next round of storms I'm sure we'll be having. Thank you.
  20. I know I probably missed 30 posts on this subject 2 weeks ago. Garth really freaked out over 4th of July. I was thinking of getting some Melatonin. Has anyone had luck with it. Garth is approx. 75 pounds. How much is correct amount. Will call vet but wanted the experienced minds at GT to weigh in. Thanks.
  21. Sending my prayers along. So sorry to read this but we will keep you in our thoughts. Please take care.
