  1. I am so sorry. You and Gabe fought with such dignity and grace. When you posted this morning, my heart broke for you. Wishing you and your husband peace and comfort.
  2. My whippet had the vestibular syndrome earlier this winter. It took several days before he stopped staggering around in circles and being completely panicked. His eyes would dart back and forth to the side that he would stagger.
  3. I am so sorry. The ones that make you work so hard leave such a large space.
  4. I am so very sorry. I followed his course and hoped that he would recover. My thoughts are with you.
  5. I am so very sorry. What a handsome guy.

    Pipi-Francine

I am so very sorry. She certainly had the Pip part of Pipi-Francine down to a science. I loved reading about her. Hugs to you.
  7. Welcome! What a gorgeous boy you have there!

    Skylar

I am sorry you lost Skylar. What a beautiful girl. Sounds like she passed the way she lived - on her own terms. My thoughts are with you.
  9. I have fallen over them before. Quite embarrassing. I run two of them and to suddenly have one cut in front of you in the dark . . . . However, that seemed to help. I also made a concerted effort to keep them farther from me. I haven't had this problem now for almost a year. I am sure I just jinxed myself though! As for stairs, they gravitated to passing on the left. Since I have several, they tend to barrel down the stairs in a group. The noise warns me, so I can push myself against the wall! I just wish I could harness their daily excitement just to be alive! (I wouldn't mind being able to nap the way they do, either, but that's for another thread!)
  10. My whippet started sundowning a yeer or so ago. I put timers on lights all over the place to keep the darkness at bay until I get home from work. That seems to help. I also started him on Cholodin, which also seems to help. It is hard to see them so confused! Scritches to your pretty girl.
  11. I am so sorry! You both tried so very hard. Your blue eyed bear needed him now. RIP, handsome EZ.
  12. Welcome from Maryland! Montgomery County, to be exact! I adopted two of my hounds from GPA-Baltimore and volunteer for them. My daughter lives in Baltimore now, too! Gorgeous pups!
  13. I am so very sorry. I loved seeing your pictures. What a happy, handsome guy. He lived life to the fullest.
  14. I am going through something similar with Dante right now. He was diagnosed with Lyme's Disease last winter and hasn't fully bounced back since. He sinks sometimes on walks and no longer goes upstairs with everyone else at night. At playgroup, if he stands still too long (he no longer runs with the rest), his back legs start shaking. He is 11.5 and my first dog EVER, so I don't know what is "normal" and what is not. The spinal pressure test would cause him to flinch in one spot. The vet said that was where the Lyme's was causing the most inflammation. That being said, he has an appointment next Friday, the 24th with a vet who is a certified accupuncturist. I am hoping that he can do something or at least tell me it is all in my head! Good luck with your handsome boy.
  15. Lazer's story is nothing short of amazing! Here's to many more great updates!
  16. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
  17. I fed raw and buy a good portion of my food from Peter at TopQuality. He carries a lot of organic meat, too! Opie-Boy, the Frederick food pick-up is every other month. I will be there this weekend! Otherwise, when I need something, I arrange to drive to Silver Spring. It interferes with playgroup though! I also buy chicken quarters in 10 pound bags from Bottom Dollar. They are not "enhanced" with salt, as they are from Walmart. The price varies, but it just went up to .68 a pound.
  18. I just love that last picture - so sweet, just like Billy. I am sorry.
