  1. I'm sure others will chime in soon. There are several greys on here that have wonderful lives. Good luck
  2. I like to use those Velcro strips that keep chords together. Wrap it around the sock then roll excess sock to cover the strip
  3. Yep one of the internal sutures is working its way out.
  4. He is a looker. I know I'm being the bad guy (gal) here but I would be REALLY cautious about letting him off leash untill his recall is MUCH better. One he is not altered and males can smell a female 3miles away & no way are you going to will against the scent of a female in heat. Two this new world is nothing he is use to and as he showed you it's more interesting than you. Not saying he can never be off leash at the beach but I just think doing it so soon is a recipe for disaster (just my honest opinion). He does sound like he is getting the handle of home life. I foster greys right off the track. It can be frustrating to get them to "get it" but it is so wonderful when they do and when they enjoy the new things.
  5. Would use a bellyband and a LOUD no when he lifts his leg. You Los need to soak the area he marked with enzyme cleaner. I would keep this up till he is " marking safe" for a week before I would no longer use the bellyband. If its relerving himself (not marking) then the only diff is once you say no the outside you go till he pees. Then you praise like heck. Good luck
  6. This is ALL new to him. He has lead a really structured life with lots of hounds up to this point. (There is a really good article about this.... Hopefully some one will post it). Just wondering if you are planning on neutering him?
  7. Did you get him from calainte? If so there are several of us on greytalk that work with groups that get our dogs from there
  8. When ever I pick my foster greys up from surgery they are little dopie. But got one foster home & was doing what you describe. Called vets & they said it was because he had the surgery at 4:30 & I picked him up @8:30. Only 4 hours had passed and he Hadnt been able to completely recover from the anastasia. Was fine the next day
  9. Have you read any of the information on "away training". I think it would be helpful to get your pup to understand that you will be back. Do you leave music om for him?
  10. Good luck. swoop did the puke up undigested food. Did blood work & he had pancreatitis. So even if blood work was already done betore blood work it may not have showed. swoops just came on. No change in diet or human food given
  11. I'm sorry my heart aches for you. Just cherish the memories
  12. Swoop was just diagnosed (exam/symptoms/blood work). I've been reading up on it but was wondering if anyone out there who has delt with it has any advice or info you wanted to share. Thanks in advance
