  1. BauersMom, any update on what the vet said?
  2. I might have missed it in another thread... how did Peace's appointment go at OSU? And how is Peace feeling now?
  3. Back in the 1980's, we adopted (from a family member) a female, wire fox terrier at age 7. At her first visit with our vet she tested positive for heartworm. Her's was advanced and she was on the treatment for 2 months. I'm happy to report she lived a very happy, fiesty life until age 13. Sending lots of good thoughts for Kacer.
  4. Is your regular vet the one you told us about a few months ago? You had posted that your vet suddenly decided he was no longer going to treat Greyhounds. Is this the same vet?
  5. We use petshed.com, no script needed, just order online and pay. We've been using them over a year. We have 5 hounds so we save a grip o' money. Their shipping is very inexpensive and my orders always have arrived within 4 days. Just received my latest order of Nuheart (generic Heartgard) 4 packs of 6 tablets with an expiration date of 2010. Total cost with shipping $87.80. The last time I bought heartworm meds from our vet it was $95 for one pack of 6 tablets. I still have my vet do the heartworm test during their annual visits.

I don't post often but I feel compelled to tell you... It is because of the rimadyl education you have provided through greytalk that I immediately removed one of my hounds from it when he exhibited some odd symptoms. He's fine. I won't use it ever again unless absolutely necessary and then only with thorough bloodwork before and during. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am sure that you saved his life. Eliza knows this too.
  7. one of ours slit his ear, it was bleeding profusely...off to the vet, they cleaned/trimmed it sent us home with bandaged ear, next day bleeding profusely again, off to the vet, they cauterized the edges - bleeding stopped, it has healed and the hair has grown in nicely - - - now almost a year later we're still finding blood sprays on the walls/ceilings here and there
  8. blackheads, our first grey had a very, very thick patch of them, we used warm compresses and a vet tech worked some out during one of his dental cleanings, and now three years later there are only a few left
  9. so glad to read that today you have responses and a possible path
  10. I find it EXTREMELY difficult to apply. When I have been successful, I'm not sure it even helps.
  11. Last weekend, as a trial for the 4th, I gave my 80# hound two 25mg benadryls. It had no effect on him at all, I thought he would at least get sleepier than usual, but nope! he seemed his usual self - am I under dosing?
  12. That's what I was thinking when I read it. Since Greytnut had mentioned that they were going to try it, I thought I'd ask about results. Currently, we're using a DAP diffuser with inconclusive results. I've ordered a DAP collar to see if that will help some more.
  13. In searching for info about thunderphobia remedies I ran across this. GreytNut, did you use it? What were the results? I know this was a year ago but I was wondering about the outcome. Apologizing in advane, if you posted this information in another thread, I was unable to find it. Thanks
