  3. To every dog lover or pet/animal lover: Bullet and Comet have been working so hard in the PBSO Animal Kindness Unit for nearly three years bringing their smiling faces and their program to children and adults alike in PB County. Bullet has developed cancer and has had surgery to remove the tumor. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy and will be on “light duty” with PBSO for the next couple of months. We have started a “get well card” campaign at the recommendation of one of the local teachers. We are looking to fl ood the offi ce with cards for his speedy recovery. We would appreciate your forwarding this to friends and relatives – they need not be in PB County – cards from all over are appreciated. Send your cards to: Bullet Masi PBSO Special Events / Animal Kindness Unit 3228 Gun Club Road West Palm Beach, FL 33406 Thank you.

  6. oh yes they used to get into a lot of things and I do belive Sandi was the ring leader. Don't have any recent pics of them but will see if I can dig up something even when they were babies. Ha babies Al was 8lb 11 oz when he was born and Sandi a shrimp at 6 lb 5 oz. Baby elephants for twins back themn
  7. yes I was frantic with the aspirin caper - with my oldest 17 mo older than the twins it was what one did not think of the other one did. Another caper that involved all three was getting in my cupboard and mixing flour, sugar, coffee and what ever else they could grab and mixing it together. That is when I bought bicycle locks and put on all my cabinets.
  8. Thank you I pray that he does not have any more also.
  9. Thank you all - I will try and keep busy today - just told Tina about the baby aspirin caper that was pulled by Sandi who had climbed up on a very high cabinet and took a bottle of unopened baby aspirin and ate them all - she was about 2 at the time. Al opened up his mouth and pointed to it and said not me Mom and pointed to Sandi say it her not me. Her mouth was as orange as orange could be but not a trace in him. Off to the ER where they gave her Ipecac (sp) and that was back in 1960. Wonder what they do today
  10. Thank you Mary and myself are going to try and go to a reunion today if nothing pops up that prevents us from going. You try to remember the good things but then the other image comes to mind of how they suffered and how much weight they lost from this dreadful disease. Praying they find a cure so others do not have to suffer and tha is for our beloved greyhounds also
  11. Today my twins Al and Sandi would of been 52 - Al passed away 12/24/2007 and Sandi 11/30/2009 - both to different forms of cancer - Al to head and neck, Sandi to lung cancer. I am trying to cope today and will try and do numerous things to try and keep my sanity Some of my greyhound friends have been e-mailing me especially Ms. Nedra and Kate and I want to thank them both
  12. It was 4 am Friday and EZ had another seizure - woke me up thrashing as I heard him hitting the door jamb. This seizure was in the doorway and his thrashing pulled the 1 inch slat off of the door frame. I called both his regular vet and neuro vet when the opened up in the morning. His neuro vet said that as they get older their seizures may increase well this one was about 4 weeks since his last one 8/15 and then 9/10. He will not increase or adjust his meds right now unless he seizes again. I have to make arrangements for his blood work that is due in October.
  13. Hershey is constantly playing and tossing toys in the air never know where to find them when she is done The boys sometimes follow suit with Hershey but lately noticing them running and playing that way EZ will grab a toy or something when he is excited such as when I am getting dinner or breakfast ready - today he grabbed Nedra's coat that I just finished off of the sewing table and took into the living room.
  14. I have heard quite a few bells ring Braden, Rachael, Martin and Pudge so I know you have your angel wings.

BTW I mailed packages today for the up coming auctions on Carpe Canem for GU and GALT with a few bells inside the boxes. The rest of the bells I hope to ship on Friday that is if I don't have to work..

And when the Day comes, God will call the Greyhound to give Testament, and God will pass judgement on man. (Persian Proverb)

  20. May your Spirit be remembered forever The Spirit Of A Greyhound I was standing on a hillside in a field of blowing wheat, and the spirit of a Greyhound was lying at my feet. He looked at me with kind dark eyes, ancient wisdom shining through. in the essence of his being, I saw the love there too. His mind did lock upon my heart as I stood there on that day, and he told me of this story about a place so far away. As I stood upon that hillside in a field of blowing wheat, in a twinkling of a second his spirit left my feet. His tale did put my heart at ease, all my fears did fade away about what lay ahead of me on another distant day. "I live among God's creatures now in the heavens of your mind, so do not grieve for me, my friend as I am with my kind. My collar is a rainbow's hue, my leash a shooting star. my boundaries are the Milky Way where I sparkle from afar. There are no pens or kennels here for I am not confined, but I'm free to roam God's heavens among the Greyhound kind. I nap the day on a snowy cloud gentle breezes rocking me, and dream the dreams of earthlings, and how it used to be. The trees are full of liver treats, and tennis balls abound, and milk bones line the walkways just waiting to be found. There even is a ring set up, the grass all lush and green; and everyone who gaits around becomes the Best of Breed. For we're all winners in this place; we have no faults, you see. and God passes out those ribbons to each one, even me. I drink from waters laced with gold, my world a beauty to behold; and wise old dogs do form my pride to amble at my very side. At night I sleep in angel's arms, her wings protecting me, and moonbeams dance about us as stardust falls on thee. So when your life on earth is spent and you stand at Heaven's gate, have no fear of loneliness-- for here, you know, I wait." -Author Unknown
  21. yes so do I don't know how much more either one of us can handle. I am like a zombie right now and was going to get the bells ready for shipping to the groups but I think it will have to wait

  23. Thank you it is just another set back will be calling his vets one today the other tomorrow. I was hoping to get the bells packed for shipping today but I am a zombie right now so I might have to put it off until tomorrow or Wednesday - so far I have 8 groups on my list
  24. At 2:30 am EZ seized again this time it was only 6 weeks since the last one. This was another mild one and lasted about 1 1/2 minutes - woke me up so I am estimating. Took him about 5 minutes to get up after the seizure and about 5 minutes of confusion had to go potty and pooped and peed. I dosed him with his phenobarbital when he came back in the house (I was outside the whole time with him). took his bed cover down to the basement to put in the washer, he followed me down. When I came back up he did not want to follow me but after some coaxing he did come up. Got him back upstairs and took about 5 minutes for him to lay down and slept until 6:30 am and I had to call him downstairs at 6:45 - he gets his morning meds at 7 am, evening med at 7 pm. Right now he is sleeping but seems okay
