  4. { just adopted a broodie that cannot be bathed, I know some faint during baths but this is a little different Took her to PetSmart to be bathed, she collapsed and scared the living daylights out of everyone including the resident vet who detected a murmur that my vet missed Left PetSmart and went to my vet where he checked her over and also heard the murmur I asked if the soap could be rinsed off and the vet tech used tepid water and she collapsed again with the vet present Vet did an EKG and it was determined that she needed an echo cardiogram, which I am waiting for them to schedule She did have two litters one was 5 pups who are 18 months old and the otherwas 3 pups who are 3 months old. I have been unable to get her vet records but my vet is now trying Has any one else had their pup have these episodes when trying to bathe them

  7. he was my first boy as my dh only wanted girl, he was a lover boy, loved ear scritches and just about everything very seldom roached I wa lucky to catch this one
  8. Penske started limping this morning which got progessively worse by the time I got him to the vet he could not walk and his right hind leg was knuckling under and had a bm in the car. A male vet tech had to carry him into the vets and he was panting and shaking. Vet said he had a stroke and no guarantee that he would recover so I had to not think of myself but of him and made the decision to let him go. He is now with his dad and free of pain, I know there was a joyful noise when he arrived. BTW he was the nephew of Queen Softee (SoftShoeSureShot) who was queen of gt a few years agoI will miss my dear sweet boy who loved to cuddle and give me kisses, Until we meet again my sweet boy
  9. I am so sorry for your loss of such beautiful girl A LOAN FROM GOD God promised at the birth of time, A special friend to give, His time on earth is short, he said, So love him while he lives. It may be for eight or ten years, Or only two or three, But will you, till I call him back, Take care of him for me? A wagging tail and cold wet nose, And silken velvet ears, A heart as big as all outdoors, To love you through the years. His puppy ways will gladden you, And antics bring a smile, As guardian or friend he will, Be loyal all the while. He'll bring his charms to grace your life, And though his stay be brief, When he's gone the memories, Are solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay, Since all from earth return, But lessons only a dog can teach, I want you each to learn. I've looked the whole world over, In search of guardians true, And from the folk that crowd life's land, I have chosen you. Whatever love you give to him, Returns in triple measure, Follow his lead and gain a life, Brim full of simple pleasures. Enjoy each day as it comes, Allow your heart to guide, Be loyal and steadfast in love, As the dog there by your side. Now will you give him all your love, Nor think the labor vain, Nor hate me when I come to call, To take him back again? I fancy each of us would say, Dear Lord, thy will be done, For all the joys this dog shall bring, The risk of grief we'll run. We'll shelter his with tenderness, We'll love him while we may, And for the happiness we've know, Forever grateful stay. But should the angels call for him, Much sooner than we've planned, We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, And try to understand. If by our love we've managed, God's wishes to achieve, In memory of him that we have loved, And to help us while we grieve; When our faithful bundle departs, This earthly world of strife, We'll get yet another pup, And love him all his life. 10. a lot of people can't believe it is 4 years he passed in 2009
  11. It was 4 years ago today that my beloved David lost his fight against cancer there is never a day that goes by that I don't think about him and miss him. Today we went to the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies where he is buried. The activities was Sunday so there were quite a few people there but not as many as there was yesterday. When we entered the cemetery there were some ladies handing out long stemmed roses and said that one was to put on the grave and one to take home. I gave mine to my girlfriend Mary as she drove me up there. If it were not for the greyhound I don't know how I would of made it without losing my mind
  12. I am so sorry for your loss and can feel your pain in your tribute to such a sweet baby

  14. He is now with his dad David and all our Angels who are waiting for us
  15. February 22, 2012 I had to let EZ Lord Penske go to the Bridge - He seized around midnight and I took him down stairs, let him out for duty, medicated him and fed him 1 cup of dry kibble. We went back to bed and I did not hear him but he must of had one or more seizures found this out when he woke me up with the tell tale signs - again I let him out, medicated him and gave him his favorite a large carrot- He never clustered when I medicated him so I decided to take him to the ER - he cried when I was getting him the car and the Vet said he did that to her the whole time she was examining him and did not respond to his name. We discussed what could be done but she said he was brain damaged and I could not let him go on that way - we did discuss this in length EZ was my clown and thief - once he ate a pair of stockings and if anything was missing you just checked his favorite beds I miss you EZ my clown and thief
  16. Whenever anything was missing the first place we/I looked was Angel EZ's favorite bed
  17. Greyhounds will ingest the darnedest things - I had one that ingested anything plastic, my shoes, boots, reading glasses and last but not least my stockings. Came home from work took them off and folded them to put in the laundry. Later went to take them to the laundry basket they were gone - did I take them up or didn't I. Not in the basket and I looked everywhere for them. Could not find them. Eleven days later Mr. EZ pooped out a long never ending poop. When I checked it it was one of my stockings - off to the ER -x-rays showed the other one still in his stomach - vet said to watch him as they did not operate on the stomach unless they had to. Sure enough the next day a big blob came out and the other stocking appeared.
  18. MESSAGE FROM THE RAINBOW BRIDGE some things I'd like to say. But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay. I'm writing this from the Bridge. Here I dwell with God above. Here there's no more tears of sadness. Here is just eternal love. Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight. Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night. That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through, God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you. It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone. As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on." God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do. And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you. And when you lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight, God and I are closest to you... in the middle of the night. When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years, because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears. But do not be afraid to cry: it does relieve the pain. Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain. I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned. If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand. But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er. I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before. There are rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb; But together we can do it by taking one day at a time. It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too; That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you. If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain; Then you can say to God at night... "My day was not in vain." And now I am contented... that my life was worthwhile. Knowing as I passed along I made somebody smile. God says: "If you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low; Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go. When you're walking down the street with me on your mind; I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind." "And when it's time for you to go... from that body to be free. Remember you're not going... you're coming here to me." -Author Unknown
